No shit. Being angry makes sense. Making up or repeating lies (exaggerations? Bullshit?) makes less sense to me. Be angry, don’t be a liar if you want people to believe you.

Joke about whatever you want, but dude was saying (poorly and stupidly) that if he hadn't attacked Iran they might have been able to attack US cities, so he had to act (this is BS, obv). People saying that Trump wished those partic cities to be attacked are making shit up. Why make shit up?

Hard agree. The list of sports you’ll be able to follow if you can’t do this is pretty small.

It’s not about being nice, it’s about not looking like unhinged liars willing to bend the truth to score a point. There’s a near infinite supply of truly evil stuff the man says, why do any stretching or exaggerating if that might alienate people who aren’t liking ‘lying politicians’ these days?

But what if I, an insider and consultant (who definitely hasn't lost 75% of the races I've been involved in) call up a legacy media outlet tell them I *know* 1000 voters that love Rahm? Sure, they go to another high school but I swear I know them!

I also think 'zionist' is a term normies have only heard recently, at the very time when the term is being belligerently re-defined to score political points. I don't blame folks, even those with decently thoughtful politics, for not knowing exact definition. Same with left/liberal/progressive.

Trejo opened several LA based businesses (tacos, donuts) that had brief periods of white-hot popularity and (I assume) profitability. Lots of expansion, new business partners and then unpaid taxes and chapter 11. I imagine he needs all the $ he can get.

Is the distinction the gauge of the track? The weight of the cars? What’s the dividing line between light/heavy? Are there other categories?

Do you have a good resource for explaining what defines the various kinds of transit trains? Are LA Metro trains considered 'light rail' or is that Metrolink? I feel like I *should* know this but missed that class. (along with the who/whom class)

But isn't a lot of that animus bc Madrid fans believe that Bale somehow made CRon feel bad so therefore he must be terrible? It hardly feels like that's about Bale's on field performances and rather demonstrating their faithfulness to the Madrista party line.

A lot of smart and caring people I follow on here are into pro wrestling. They seem genuinely sad tonight. I wonder how many of these folks are doing the math that it isn't just a 'weird coincidence' this entertainment they care about so much is also very, very bad for the human participants.

The CIA is rarely the hero but ending USAID also eliminated huge swaths of US intel capabilities, especially in all the un-glamorous places around the world. The people in those remote and poor spots are dying, we won't know about it and we we won't have any idea what other problems that's causing.

GOP officials expect voters confronted with wars/prices/tariffs that are kicking their asses to go along with the GOP's insane "what was I supposed to do, it's what Trump wanted" storyline. GOP candidates surprised "I'm powerless to challenge Trump and help you, please re-elect me" isn't flying.

GOP electeds are trapped between what their voters want and what Trump wants - a not uncommon situation for midterms. BUT the big difference in 2026 is that R politicians have completely abdicated their own decision making to Trump admin and don't grasp that they had a choice in the matter.

There must be a name for this phenomenon - I tune my radio to the local classical station and imagine that *I* created Bach's concertos - ignoring the actual musicians, conductor, guy who invented radio and Bach. I look at a mass produced map of the world and believe that I discovered Belgium, etc.

Between the 'how many $$ was the pregnant lady arrested for' explanation & 'how many days did I make the pedophile stay in jail before releasing him' justification - today's been huge for "Is it time for GOP to stop digging the hole they're at the bottom of?" Answer is always 'no, keep digging.'

As an Inland Empire (though no one called it that back then) resident in the '70s, I can confirm. Getting rid of Leaded gas was something "real men" argued against bc of - I dunno, "reasons." People in Los Angeles proper (or even SFV) have no concept of how bad it was in truly smoggiest parts of CA.

Do you have the same thoughts about voters for Brexit, Dutch PVV and German AfD? Politics is a lot more like creating a soap opera where we imagine ourselves as the star than most of us would like to admit.

The DC-based press has long worked *hard* to make sure everyone sees how they treat Fox as a real outlet and despite the raging racism of their opinion-havers, there are "real reporters at Fox." This is as ingrained in the journalists as the "respected members across the aisle" BS is in the Senate.

HBO currently has the rights to this doc (which is why it's four 1-hr episodes long) and the Warners/Para merger (partially funded by Musk) might swallow it whole.

I dunno, it started years back when economy was booming. It sucks for all the regular SAG folks who could be getting these payments and health care, but celebs have been bigfooting commercials for a decade+ now. Streaming killed A-lister residuals, so ad-work might be "replacing" that?

I'll be open to this idea once Bernie defeats a full-fat R who calls him a "commie" over & over while citing his 1980s trips to Moscow. Sanders seems like a good guy AND he's never ever had his biggest weakness tested. Until I see him hit that MLB-level fastball this consultant can hike on.

They might. the right wing has built itself around not knowing things. They don't understand how vaccines work. Don't wanna know the difference between climate and weather. People who understand things are inherently telling them that they're dumb, simply by knowing stuff like 'water runs downhill.'
