Aside from the obvious question (why does the person who made this think hitler and Mao are both in heaven?) why did Che get a rematch? Did he beat Charlie the first time?

Lest you think this is just more edgelord shit posting, it’s actually just gutter racism

with. one exception - they do not belong here.
Millions arrived under' the

Ted Chiang with the explanation of Luddism that I need to force feed to like 100 people whose opinions I’ve been forced to see online this week www.newyorker.com/science/anna...
People who criticize new technologies are sometimes called Luddites, but it's helpful to clarify what the Luddites actually wanted. The main thing they were protesting was the fact that their wages were falling at the same time that factory owners profits were increasing, along with food prices. They were also protesting unsafe working conditions, the use of child labor, and the sale of shoddy goods that discredited the entire textile industry. The Luddites did not indiscriminately destroy machines; if a machine's owner paid his workers well, they left it alone. The Luddites were not anti-technology; what they wanted was economic justice. They destroyed machinery as a way to get factory owners' attention. The fact that the word "Luddite" is now used as an insult, a way of calling someone irrational and ignorant, is a result of a smear campaign by the forces of capital.

Extremely funny to start building your Triumphal Arch the day Robert Kagan of all people says you lost the war you just started
Screenshot of AP headline from today “survey work begins for contested Trump triumphal arch project in Washington”Screenshot of post from the Atlantic “the U.S. is effectively checkmated in Iran and this defeat will carry lasting consequences unlike any America has endured before, Robert Kagan argues”

Incredible work imo
It features quote after quote from public figures all over the political spectrum, including some who know Trump personally, saying things to the effect that the President pooped out his brain and accidentally stepped on it and it shot out from under his shoe and smashed into a wall and splattered all over the place and then he fell down a flight of stairs into a swimming pool and was underwater for 12 straight minutes and has not been the same ever since they hauled him out and drained the gallon of pool water from inside his skull. Representing the "The President has a brain, it is inside of his head, and it works actually" side of the discussion are a couple pro forma quotes from a Fox News ghoul and an actual White House spokesperson saying, in effect, "Nuh-uh."

I hate to be in the position of having to give this weird little freak the benefit of the doubt but this is far from the worst sentiment he’s expressed.
Wikipedia article on the phrase too cheap to meter reading “Too cheap to meter refers to a commodity so inexpensive that it is cheaper and less bureaucratic to simply provide it for a flat fee or even free and make a profit from associated services. Originally applied to nuclear power, the phrase is also used for services that can be provided at such low cost that the
additional cost of itemized billing would outweigh the benefits.”

Unrelated, but what the fuck is this supposed to mean? This is an absurd version of “a bridge to sell you” because crystal flutes are real and not particularly expensive. I bought my mom one for her birthday.
A screenshot of text reading: Over the past half decade, our unchallenged deference to people’s own declarations about their lives has collapsed. We saw too many flimsy or obviously politicized accusations sneak under the wire of “Believe women.” Just think of Tara Reade, whose unconvincing claims of sexual assault against Joe Biden were seized on by Republicans, and who announced that she had defected to Russia in 2023. We have watched as former icons of body positivity shot themselves up with GLP-1s at the first opportunity—suggesting that they did not, in fact, feel happy and healthy at any size. Some of them, like Lizzo, maintain that they only tried GLP-1s, but have actually lost weight through “mind-over-matter.” (If you believe that, I’ve got a crystal flute to sell you.)

the last phrase is highlighted
