It was attacked by Armour Piercing Machine Gun fire on its way back to La Justice and was set on fire by spare petrol cans inside the tank being hit by the A.P. MG fire. 100

Only later doing family history research found he lost his ear to shrapnel, returned to front after treatment, gunshot to left shoulder, invalided home, returned and shot through left knee! No longer fit for infantry joined RAMC, and served up until 1919 110
