I've just finished City of All Seasons (a gentle, thoughtful scifi about architecture, cinema, family) co-authored by Aliya Whiteley & Oliver K. Langmead. And I can't imagine how people can write a novel together. The mechanisms, patience, decision making...! Is each chapter written in turns?

On my quest to only buy books by female authors through 2025, I've started reading I Who Have Never Known Men, a devastating apocalyptic novel by Jacqueline Harpman. I'm a massive sci-fi fan who's worked through most of the genre's classics. So this is such an exciting discovery from the 1990s.

Enjoyed a lovely meal with writers & editors yesterday at HOME Manchester, marking the end of a wonderful 2yr Fourdrinier/Paper Gallery project (as a mentor). I've missed meeting writers irl. We talked about everything from failure, long form texts in monographs, commissioning & pitching challenges.
