My dad has never gotten car sick until he was riding in the back seat of my Ioniq 5 in the Poconos Mountains. Once I turned off 1 pedal driving he got much better through. That’s the important thing, just turn off 1 pedal and EVs become just like ICE.

If the long range does have close to a 100kwh pack then that would be good. I am mostly concerned with the rumors the standard range will have a 50ish kWh pack. That’s just too small IMO.

I have stated multiple times that when we start to see solid state batteries in the 30s. I hope manufacturers keep capacities where they are currently and instead shrink the physical size of the battery.

The range estimates are not what I am concerned with. The issue is supplementing a smaller battery to hit those estimates via efficiency gains alone. Especially when towing or just the winter, nothing beats pure battery capacity. I agree that big batteries are wasteful, just need a balance.

Putting a smaller battery in as an attempt to reach a profit margin is not the right move. All EVs should be designed to be as efficient as possible but should never use that as a reason to ship a smaller battery. The Fathom should come with a 80kwh battery at minimum. Even that might be a bit small

I don’t understand why Ford has to put in a smaller battery to maintain margins. Hyundai Ioniq 5 starts at $38K with a 84kwh 800v battery!

EVs are superior to combustion engines vehicles in everyway. I know you couldn’t pay my family to go back to an ICE vehicle. There is nothing about them that we miss. Life is better with an EV.

There are tons of non Tesla EVs. My family has a Bolt, Mach E, and a Ioniq 5. We are so happy we ditched gas and none of us ever want to purchase one again. They are worse in every way compared to an EV.

Only time the car does thermal management while charging is while DC charging. It doesn’t need to heat or cool the battery during AC charging. I have no clue what that guy was referring to, sounds like he is just making up excuses.

America needs to become more a democracy in my opinion. A republic made sense when we were founded. Now we have technology that could allow individuals to vote directly on measures in the government. It’d be great if the people became a 4th branch of government that could overrule any other branch.
