Pretty significant update to the Watkins biography: A new appendix featuring a conversation between myself and Jennifer Watkins, Roger's youngest daughter! Lots of funny, sweet, and fascinating stories, from prank calling Bob Ross to a previously unknown appearance on Unsolved Mysteries!

Close to a decade of work on and (mostly) off, but the biggest piece I've ever written is here! Some 17,000 words (initial draft clocked in at 35,000) about one of the most interesting filmmakers you've possibly never heard of. Full piece available (free!) on my website: www.jackwholman.com/writings

Hey, neat! I'm in The Thing Expanded shamelessly showing off my collection of Things and talking about why a minor piece of foley is possibly my favourite moment in cinema history.

Back in 2022, Alejandro Vidal Charris emailed me to say that a piece I wrote helped inspire him to write an article about a lost film called Roy del espacio. It may be my favourite bit of feedback I've ever recieved. Beyond delighted to see what Alejandro's work has led to. Cannot wait to see this!

I discovered Louise's work through a chance repost on here, so only fair I pay it forward. I gave Castration i a 10/10 on first watch (the same rating I gave to Mondo Topless and All That Jazz, so you *know* it's good). Go support!

Thinking of all those in the closet who won't have anybody reaching out to make sure they're okay.

I'm not saying this is my favourite comedy of the last few years or anything, I'm just saying I already bought the UK Blu release earlier this year and have now also placed an order for the North American release for the extra bonus features.

I'm unbelievably thankful to live a life where I can say this without so much as flinching

Apropos of absolutely nothing, here's a selection of a few albums I've enjoyed this past year that are available to purchase and own over on Bandcamp.

🧵 I don't tend to use microblog-type things a whole bunch (I have very little to say), but you can find me being more active in the following places: What I'm watching (Letterboxd): letterboxd.com/Butch_McFlic... What I'm reading (StoryGraph): app.thestorygraph.com/profile/doub...

Page feels naked, so I'll take that as an excuse to post an up-to-date (physical) collection pic (of writing anyway, I perpetually have stuff on order)
