i've messed around with setting up pop!_os enough to get steam up and running on it, and i've had my sights set on trying out cachyos too i'm pretty sure i could make it work with time, especially since i'm looking to optimise my PC for purely just kicking back and chilling out with games and all

minus gaming stuff i could literally drive my entire desk setup using this thing my typical daily productive itinerary includes tons of reading, writing, researching, emailing, admin work and staying in contact with everyone in theory even my ipad could drive my entire desk setup

i've thought about going back to an older iPhone for the audio side of things alone but i prefer using Android for most Phone Things, or running one purely as a pseudo-iPod but i'd rather not carry a lot of things in my pockets and would like to have one device that does everything i need Tbh

AAC typically drops off around like ~14-15.7kHz on android, whereas iPhones can reach near ~18kHz whilst only pushing ~256kbps, in which the audio quality retention is on par with LDAC running at the full 990kbps which uses much more power to decode

also AAC encoding is much better on apple silicon devices (iPhones and all A or M series devices) because there's dedicated hardware encoding for AAC so all bluetooth audio devices that don't support LDAC will objectively sound less lossy when streaming from an iPhone

going back to wired USB audio for daily carry earbuds bypasses the weaknesses of AAC encoding on android, and SBC sounding horrible in stereo and for all sounds above ~9kHz
