i mean i think its interesting that tolkien himself had a moral crisis about how he depicted the orcs (not for anti-racist reasons, really, but for catholic reasons). like, he could see the flaws in his own work, and it was something he struggled to reconcile

feel like the primary takeaway from that lesbian bar story is that you cannot run a bar as a "community space". like, a bar is a business that employs people and needs to make enough money to pay them and pay its other expenses, or have an owner willing to eat that money, or it goes out of business
