Just realized that I've been already rebelling against generative AI way before it was cool - but to know exactly how, you'll have to spend 30 minutes of your life playing our silly little free game jam game from 2015 […] [Original post on social.librem.one]

Yeah, I can tell. My usage hasn't changed at all for many months now, so the only way to get an estimate so inaccurate is to have AI generate it.

Both Librem 5 and Steam Deck aren't the cheapest pieces of hardware around, for some good reasons. However, did you know that you can easily get your return on investment by harvesting free power? It's easy, just connect them to each other and both devices […] [Original post on social.librem.one]

Steam Deck and Librem 5, laying on a table, connected to each other with a USB-C cable. They're both telling that they're being charged (only one of them is correct though). The Deck believes that it's at 79% charge and it will take 0h 38m to get it to 100% (well, good luck with that!), while the Librem 5 is at 64% and thinks it will take 2 hours 15 minutes until fully charged (which is much closer to truth, but still a rather pessimistic take).

I've also caught the original unmodernized 105N through the window on the way back. I didn't even try 😂 This one isn't going anywhere though, it's been preserved as a museum vehicle for a decade already 💯5️⃣ #tram #trams #bimba #poznań #konstal #105n #105na #shotonlibrem5

Last but not least, last kernel update is also lowering the FPS you can get in various modes - from 120/60/60/20/15 to 83.3/40/30/20/8. Why? It was the easiest way to reduce the MIPI CSI-2 clock freq, which turns out to effectively resolve the issue of […] [Original post on social.librem.one]

The way it does video recording is still... uhm, not great 🤪 so it's only usable for short clips, but it also benefits from the processing improvements, so these short clips should at least look prettier now. Audio should be a bit less desynced now too. If […] [Original post on social.librem.one]

Millipixels has really overstayed its welcome, it was meant to be a temporary pile of hacks to facilitate driver development, but - perhaps inevitably, as makeshift does - it stayed there much longer than anticipated. I have spent a few hours polishing some […] [Original post on social.librem.one]

Here's a few cat-less examples too for some variety. The processing is still pretty basic, you can easily get better results out of Darktable etc. but it should nevertheless be a big improvement for what you get by a simple point-and-shoot.

Here's a before-and-after example. There's much more (done with an early version of this code) in my old thread: social.librem.one/@dos/115091388610…

A photo of a wall with a drawing of a cat, a wooden key box with a fox drawn on it, an electric-yellow and magenta crocheted keychain.

The colors are off, greenish, the whole picture feels kinda "muddy" and there's significant vignetting.

The same picture, but now clearer, with nicer colors, better white balance, no vignetting.
