Dornfist @dornfist.bsky.social · 22/08/2026That was a lovely ASMR Tay! You have such a smooth and gentle voice! And you perfectly encapsulated the shy girl bumping into her classmate out of class at the campus café (Dang, i remember those lol). I would go to the Café au Tay hehe. Kudos all around! 010 0
Dornfist @dornfist.bsky.social · 22/08/2026There are some straight up tear-jerking moments, it is such a powerful narrative. Honestly, I have found a lot of media that I consumed in the 2000s and 2010s have a lot more resonant themes than upon first glance, or when I was too young to fully grasp it. 😅 It truly speaks to the creativity 110 0
Dornfist @dornfist.bsky.social · 22/08/2026I know it sounds ridiculous, lol. I did not pick up on it when I first played the games with a friend of mine at his house late 2000s, early 2010s. But when I revisited videos of the campaign story, I realized how deep the it is for the named squad members. A tale of brotherhood amidst crazy war. 110 0
Dornfist @dornfist.bsky.social · 22/08/2026Actually, for self-drive, I would throw in Captain Price, Soap, Roach, Ghost and the other members of Task Force 141 from the Call of Duty Modern Warfare campaign (the OG game and story, not the reboot). They all have insane self-drive, doing what is right, even if they have to circumvent orders. 120 0
Dornfist @dornfist.bsky.social · 22/08/2026I sincerely believe I took to this show cos I'm already used to bleak/grim dark stuff thanks to being a Warhammer 40k fan that is as bleak as they come haha. That being said, the world building of this show and myteries was what kept me glued from start to finish! 020 0

In that, yes, perhaps future generations will forget history and make the same mistakes, but the contexts for new cycles will be somewhat different. Well, at least some of the main gang of the show gets a happy ending after the various hells they went through. 120 0
Dornfist @dornfist.bsky.social · 22/08/2026Him and Eren actually share quite a bit regarding the immutability of fate, and how silly it is to believe we have any agency to change our fate. A very interesting philosophical take for sure. And while that can be applied to the cyclicality of human conflict, I feel there was a hopeful note in the 110 0
Dornfist @dornfist.bsky.social · 22/08/2026by fatalism and visions of the future. So I was thinking about him as I watched Eren in season 4 do what he does, as well as the way he talked, which felt very cynical. The image below is Curze, who went by the title of "Night Haunter". 110 0
Dornfist @dornfist.bsky.social · 22/08/2026The rest of the cast is great too. But Armin and Levi are very up there for me. Eren is a great protagonist POV, and I gotta say, I saw where his character was going after the season 3 finale. He reminds me a bit of Anakin, Saw, and a 40k Character named Konrad Curze (this last one was also plagued 120 0
Dornfist @dornfist.bsky.social · 22/08/2026ways. Great OST, great animation, and great story. Armin is my favorite character, but for some reason, mood-wise, I leaned towards Levi in the quiet moments of the drama lol. 120 0
Dornfist @dornfist.bsky.social · 22/08/2026I can safely say now, I have watched all of "Attack on Titan". I'm not a big anime enjoyer, but if there are genres that speak to me, I give it a shot. And I'm glad I took the recommendation to watch this one. What a chilling story about human conflict...it can relate to today's world in so many 120 0
Dornfist @dornfist.bsky.social · 22/08/2026I recently watched "Casablanca" in its entirety. Such a moving romance story. But also, it is truly magical what they were able to pull off in terms of cinematography back in the 40s. Absolutely wondrous work! 110 0
Dornfist @dornfist.bsky.social · 22/08/2026That would be unfortunate. Iroh is human at the end of the day, which means the good, the bad, and the ugly are present in his life story. ATLA went out of its way to hint that he was a merciless warlord. I mean, "Dragon of the West" is a title Smaug would want to add to his other ones lol. 020 0
Dornfist @dornfist.bsky.social · 21/08/2026between Zuko and Aang when looking for the original firebenders. With Aang saying Iroh is good...right? And Zuko responding "He had a complicated past...family tradition I guess". I also just want to selfishly see what made Ozai into the dirtbag we know. 😅 121 0
Dornfist @dornfist.bsky.social · 21/08/2026This is why sometimes I feel we need a serious young General Iroh movie or show. To show he was not a good guy back then, but then tie in how Lu Ten's death set him on the path to becoming better, and becoming the kind uncle we know and love. It would lend more weight to the exchange we saw in ATLA 120 0
Dornfist @dornfist.bsky.social · 21/08/2026Hm, that was no coincidence...and we are still feeling the pain since that day... 010 0
Dornfist @dornfist.bsky.social · 21/08/2026Even the way the Hobbit is written, one can tell, or should, that it is meant for kids. It ain't that deep in that aspect, though I agree the themes are potent. 010 0
Dornfist @dornfist.bsky.social · 21/08/2026Flowery was great: I was impressed by what they did with him in Chapter 5. But I will admit, Spamton and Tenna had some other energy going lol. 010 0
Dornfist @dornfist.bsky.social · 21/08/2026No Azula or Suki either...😅 But yeah, no, Mai is weird. Wonder what she is up to if not the wife of the Firelord... 010 0

Dornfist @dornfist.bsky.social · 21/08/2026Aragorn would probably be smoking on afternoons on his house porch reading the newspaper. Would then be walking around town, saying hello to neighbours, even the ones that already know him if we assume this is a small/chill town. And I feel he would be keeping up with his swordsmanship. 120 0
Dornfist @dornfist.bsky.social · 21/07/2026Looooool. Crazy what timeline we live in. I remember thinking back in the day the Long Night episode of the final season of Game of Thrones was the last time Hollywood would subject me to a scene of so much darkness. Guess I was wrong. 😂 010 0
Dornfist @dornfist.bsky.social · 09/04/2026My headcanon with the prequels in mind, is the Emperor secretly hated the fact Yoda left him hanging in the Senate. So he wanted a rematch to kill Yoda as payment for the humiliation...and Yoda denied him EVEN that lol. 000 0
Dornfist @dornfist.bsky.social · 31/03/2026I love both games for many reasons. But one common thing I love is the galactic exploration you can do lol. I'm obsessed with it! Manaan for instance is like a tourist vacation in the first game haha. Aside from the drama there. 020 0

Dornfist @dornfist.bsky.social · 12/03/2026Finishes rewatching Episode VI, Return of the Jedi. Did after doing the "IV, V, I, II, III" order. It is interesting, for sure, though I still prefer the numbered order; VI does hit a lot more after the "flashbacks". Yoda scene still hits me, as does Vader's decision. What a beautiful story... 040 0
Dornfist @dornfist.bsky.social · 09/03/2026Cos, edgy, and drab is the new norm for franchises that had a go-lucky feel for them. 😆 But I suspect the One Piece team does not conform to that, and recall what their source material's tone is about lol. 020 0
Dornfist @dornfist.bsky.social · 08/03/2026Hmmmm. Where indeed? 😆 One only needs to listen and observe. 🧐This looks like a great project for sure! 010 0

Dornfist @dornfist.bsky.social · 08/03/2026Thank you @rishizukava.bsky.social for making me aware too that Vakama's VA ends up doing L's English Dub voice! That is a piece of trivia I did not expect to find! 😆 020 0
Dornfist @dornfist.bsky.social · 08/03/2026The Bionicle franchise is a big part of my childhood, and the movies are no exception. I have a soft spot for "Legends of Metru Nui", where "green Toa" come together to form a team while overcoming their struggles, chief among them seen in the MC, Vakama, who is plagued by uncertainty and visions. 110 0
Dornfist @dornfist.bsky.social · 27/02/2026Soichiro Yagami. God dang I'm a clutz. To get that wrong ugh... 010 0
Dornfist @dornfist.bsky.social · 27/02/2026pay attention to some of those deeper moral discussions Yagami senior provides in Light's presence. Especially the hospital scene about "Kira cannot be a happy person, because you can't attain happiness through the murder of others". Even Ryuk points out Light's hypocrisy. 🤣 020 0
Dornfist @dornfist.bsky.social · 27/02/2026So in that light (no pun intended lol), Soircihi's enforcing the law and confronting evil, something he says a lot throughout the story, is proven right in the end. As in the right thing to do, because the way Kira dealt with crime was not correct. Funny how Light who idolizes his dad doesn't 120 0
Dornfist @dornfist.bsky.social · 27/02/2026Watari in many ways was L's Alfred and was super great! 🥲 As for heroes, a case could be made for Soirichi Yagami, Light's dad. He probably embodies some of the most good, and Death Note's author does describe him as one of the more pure characters in his roster. 230 0
Dornfist @dornfist.bsky.social · 27/02/2026Good point. L and Light's versions of justice are definitely not perfect and probably not what the common good strives for. But at least L is enforcing the law, as mundane as that sounds, just uses underhand tactics to do so. But considering how the show ends, it does prove that L's legacy endures. 130 0
Dornfist @dornfist.bsky.social · 27/02/2026L also reminds me a bit of kid me back when I was a more withdrawn person, super smart student, and had weird seating habits. Yes, I was a different beast in those days. 😅 020 0
Dornfist @dornfist.bsky.social · 27/02/2026Yes! I recognize L is no saint, but I actually am starting to think him wearing a white/light shirt contrasting with Light's dark colors is no coincidence symbolically speaking (Near has white hair and a white flanel). That's an essay I need to write one day lol. 120 0
Dornfist @dornfist.bsky.social · 27/02/2026Well I will amend the sympathies comment: I did feel the guy threw his life away, so it was more the loss of potential for society and I felt bad for his family. All to become God of the New World? Ayayay... 020 0
Dornfist @dornfist.bsky.social · 27/02/2026I'd argue L is the story's protagonist cos he is the detective, but I'm also team L. 😊 Now the Kira fans will be after me. 😅 140 0
Dornfist @dornfist.bsky.social · 27/02/2026One last thing I will say because I'm obsessed with Death Note: Light Yagami? Yeah, no sympathies from me sorry. Man went a Dr. Faustus route and didn't do much critical reflection despite being a straight A student. And he is Death Note's protagonist! That being said, interesting and entertaining. 231 0
