Add comment nodes to Elixir AST by josevalim · Pull Request #15893 · elixir-lang/elixir
This pull request changes the formatter internally so Elixir comments are attached to AST nodes. However, there is no such public API yet, so we can validate and refine the approach before exposing...

Do you know of any large open-source elixir codebase? I'm talking in the ballpark of 200k, 300k LOC or more. I often need to test the performance of a change but I don't have a large enough codebase for the measurements to be representative of our user base.

After way too much time working on stability and fixes, I'm finally at the point where I can start adding lots of features to Expert so I'm quite excited about what's to come

"safe" to me indicates it protects from attacks or easy misuse. Like `Module.safe_concat` avoiding atom exhaustion, or `Path.safe_relative` preventing path traversal attacks If it converts to a safe version, I'd name it `text_to_safe_html` Whether input is trusted is up to the caller imo

Ash is a perfect example of why data > functions. Anything defined by the DSL is stored as data that can be referenced later. Ash generates functions and stuff from that data, and integrating it with something like an LSP completions is rather easy, just ask the DSL what's available. It's so good.

Would you be interested in integrating some of this into the Expert LSP? It's the kind of feature that would be really nice to have a first class official LSP

I am really enjoying being able to statically pull out this kind of info from a compiled project. This is the same code, extended to include ETS tables + ports

I found that after ignoring 99% of online discourse about technology my sanity has improved. It's sad because I grew up on an internet where you learned something useful on the regular(except for elitist assholes), now it's pure shilling, false claims, and dogma around millionaire charlatans.

PSA if you use Expert and need to hook into it to debug an issue you're having, you can now use the "Open remote shell" command on VSCode(or configure your editor bindings to that command) and it'll drop you to an IEx session inside Expert. #ElixirLang

*Rolls 1* You charge against the Balrog of Morgoth, but the bridge collapses underneath you both and you fall deep and deeper into chasm. You think you could've been smoking pipe-weed with Bilbo in Bag End, not for the last time! But this will turn up good for you as you'll see in the next chapter.

If I have a tab open on a GH issue/PR but it's not an active tab, and there is new activity in it, @github.com will not send me a notification and I will miss it. In the case it does, it is still marked as read. I only realize I missed stuff when I manually go over PRs to check their status.

I was having issues getting my ST7789 to work with the esp32 c3 so I asked the clanker to find the issue and fix it. It did not fix it and insisted on a handrolled shitty implementation. I found the solution in an old forum post. Basically downgrade the board driver and use a specific pin config.

Am I the only one that feels very inclined to ignore a job offer email if it's sent by a recruiting app? It may be a legitimate offer for a legit good position but I see "This email has been sent to you through hireEZ" in small muted letters and I feel a primal urge to nope tf out
