As of today, Pride in BANNED in Hungary. In the heart of the European Union. How can this happen? The decision was based on the same "child protection" law that messes with my books as well. I am angry. Again. #lgbt #queer #queerrights #pride #hungary #europeanunion #humanrights #hungarian #books

This Hungarian writer supports Ukraine. I wrote a novel that's set at the time when Russia started the invasion. My book has the German, the Hungarian and the Ukrainian flags on the cover. Of course I support Ukraine. #books #booksky #ukraine #hungary #germany #artist #art #europe #author #reading

I was once asked to write the script for a famous Hungarian band's music video, adapting one of my books. I'd never done anything like that before, but I put it together in 2 hours. The band loved the concept, but never got the funds needed to shoot it. Still, I'm proud of it. #books #booksky #art

Back in June 2023 someone threatened to spit on me at my upcoming book signing. After they started fining booksellers because of the child protection law in #Hungary, I got a weird call from my publisher. Let's get into it... #booksky #books #author #reading #art www.theguardian.com/world/2023/j...

Talking about the #Hungarian child protection law and its effects on publishing is actually painful for me, it brings up the trauma of the last 3 years over and over again, but that's the thing, you need to be able to talk about it. I've been picking up my mental health piece by piece since the book laws in Hungary, I've finally submitted a manuscript that'll be published, but one tiny reminder of the laws is enough, and I'm right back on the floor. When will this end? I want to write! Freely! #booksky #books #art #youngadult

In May 2023 several of my novels got wrapped in plastic in bookshops, courtesy of the child protection law in #Hungary. One of my #youngadult #books had been on the shelves for 8 years before that law. Shops are afraid of the fine, which they can get because of ONE gay side character. #booksky #art
