Sadly this comes as no surprise does it. Anecdotally GSA has been getting worse. Particularly damning for C-Suite and Board. I’m going to say it…GSA board is stuffed with professional board members and is 80% ex housing bods, a greater chance of group think and being too close with exec.

It always baffles me how a party, seemingly steeped in British tradition & legacy, always neglects that we have been an island of builders for thousands of years.we need action at a national level to train a workforce to deliver on hsg & infrastructure,today before AI destroys a generation.

I switch off whenever I hear a Conservative speak about housing policy. Which reflects more on how poorly they continue to be in the face of one of the biggest crises facing the country. Just unserious stuff, all the time.

On one of the boards I sit on I’ve gone on the record saying I don’t think we should be engaging with parties who are diametrically opposed to spirit & reality of our services.But I can also see the reality “on the ground” I’d like leaders in the sector to be more vocal in pushing back.

This is where actual science and military technology clash with reality. A phased array is used in the military helps to jam comms interfere with electronics etc. however it would need to be big (truck mounted) generating a shit tonne of power to have any effect on humans.

The current paradigm of all journalism seems to be to get clicks, likes, shares etc which has impoverished us all and helped create the current social and political climate. Definitely a shift occurred around Brexit.

so no matter how reasonable someone comes across the decisions on policy etc come from his direction. The leadership of Reform is his mouthpiece essentially and I see nothing good from platforming Tice. Reforms housing policy has division and racism at its core. For CIh & NHF to put him on is poor.

There is a lot of discussion in the online spaces I frequent with other housing bods. My stance is this; At the local level there is some RealPolitik you have to deal with when engaging with Reform councillors. However Reform is a party of one.

I’m genuinely baffled at where we are as a society & politically.I’m starting to feel homeless in terms of political parties.A mid fifties Gen-xer & I’m getting radicalised by the never ending shit I’m seeing.We jail people for uttering a certain set of words but treat Fascists with kid gloves.

Its a cliche "We used to punch nazis not debate them" & I have real experience as a board member where for various reasons the org I am a part of have to engage with low level Reform bods. I understand that aspect of RealPolitik but you can engage with a "nice" person, not gonna change Farage et al

I'm increasingly of the mind that most HA's are not well placed to be developers of new properties. So many competing big ticket issues, continual regulatory oversight, massive costs in repairs & asset mgmt, leveraged financing making boards and execs 'timid' in organisational decision making.

Agreed. Where parties put forward purposefully divisive and reactionary housing policies I would hope our membership bodies would put forward a robust rebuttal and refuse to engage. Whilst individuals such as councillors in parties like Reform may engage,their leadership will continue sowing discord
