no worries at all! your advice may still be helpful to someone else 😊

010

Doornebuzz 😈🪭 @doornebuzz.bsky.social · 08/01/2025

wanted to quickly note that i specifically wrote VRAM and not RAM - i definitely have enough RAM. but good advice for others, nonetheless!

110

Doornebuzz 😈🪭 @doornebuzz.bsky.social · 08/01/2025

idk if this is common sense and not at all useful but i had not stumbled upon this advice prior and it left me feeling very frustrated thinking my pc build was supposed to be good enough. something to consider when picking your components, if anything!

020

Doornebuzz 😈🪭 @doornebuzz.bsky.social · 08/01/2025

my card had 8GB of VRAM. vtubing (the actual model + OBS) seemed to already eat up about half of that, leaving very little wiggle room for games. for example, Infinity Nikki would need about 3/4, which would put me at max and lag both.

120

Doornebuzz 😈🪭 @doornebuzz.bsky.social · 08/01/2025

my 4060 could handle just about any game at max without any issues. but when i would add my vtuber to the mix, even after capping the game at 60fps, at times it would brick my entire pc. come to find that even though my gpu is solid, it does not have enough VRAM.

110

Doornebuzz 😈🪭 @doornebuzz.bsky.social · 08/01/2025

vtubers my beloved, sharing this in case it’s helpful for anyone else: i have a solid (and recent) pc build but for some reason my vtuber/game would start to lag when opened simultaneously even after following other people’s great advice. 🧵🔽
