Hailing from the New Jersey Pine Barrens in the United States of America, this iconic cryptid is the Jersey Devil.

Tales tell of a woman who lived in the Pine Barrens discovering to her horror that she was pregnant with what would be her thirteenth child - filled with frustration and and misery she cursed the life growing in her, "Let this child be the devil!"

In some versions of the tales, it was born human enough but grew more devilish as it aged, until it finally fled into the woods. Others say that upon voicing her curse, the fully formed devil burst out of the woman and flew off into the night...

What would easily just be a bit of folklore has risen to new heights as reports of sightings, dead livestock attributed to it, and even supposed encounters with the devil have been a persistent thing since the mid-to-early 1800s...

A cryptid from Southeastern Austrailia's Aboriginal culture, the Yara Ma Yha Who is a vampiric creature said to resemble a frog-man with a huge head, massive mouth, and no teeth.

It is said to live in Fig Trees, and lurks in wait for travelers to let their guards down - at which point it will pounce on them. It will use the suckers on its fingers and toes to suck the victim's blood, before swallowing them whole.

After swallowing its prey, it will drink water and then nap. Upon waking up, it will vomit forth the victim and flee. The victim will now be shorter and their skill will have taken on a slight reddish tint.

Legend says that if a person should fall victim repeatidly, they will continue to shrink and turn redder as they are turned into a Yara Ma Yha Who.

It does my heart good everytime I come across someone online proclaiming "Speed Racer is a great movie!" My friend helped me see it in theater, and I had a blast. I love that movie, & can only make one complaint that isn't a minor nitpick. (I hate the version of the theme song during the credits.)

I say this as someone who played Diablo 2 into a fine powder, and has so many fond memories of playing it with my best friend who has sadly passed... Fuck Blizzard. Fuck Diablo 5. Fuck Microsoft. Diablo 3 was mediocre at best, and that was before MS started wearing the rotting skin of Blizzard.

Tim Curry was a constant part of my life. There are a few folks I can say that about that live up to that statement, and he was one of the major ones. He was in the cartoons and movies I loved as a kid; in films, shows, and games I enjoyed as I got more mature; and has always been a source of joy.

We lost a wonderful singer, a beautiful person, and truly one of the all-time greats... Dolly Parton was one of the first musicians I ever knew the name of, and I am happy to have grown up learning of all the great things she's done. RIP Dolly, gone but never forgotten.
