Wes Harrison_ The One & Only Mr. Sound Effects (1969)

youtu.be/68tYVwJXX9I That's the one! I wore out copies of this as a kid. Saw him at the Tommy Bartlett show at Wisconsin Dells. This started it all. I wonder if I got the vinyl in my stash still...

Dangit. I knew I was missing something.

I've had a similar journey. Although I only really started into the archives like 4 years ago. It spawned a lot of changes in my life. Self reflection of ideals, values, and lifestyle. The last few years going through the archives has really carried and shaped my life as of late. Big void to fill.

Good comedy is always picking out the absurd of humanity and society and turning it around, looking at it objectively, and skillfully breaking it down to the silliest notions it imbues. It's glorious, magical, and natural. It's real hard to fight going over into pure cynicism. Sometimes it's needed.

000

Every time I hear comedians talk about their influences and who they loved, it's always like hearing your story told back to you. I listened to comedy records as long as I can remember, and saw tons of stand-ups and movies growing up. Finally reconnecting is pretty great. Just like music.

The more things get screwed up, the more I dig in and start creating. Hell, I've kicked the tires of restarting an old podcast I did. The distraction is the only thing keeping this train on its tracks. Work, gym, distract. Music, books, and a lot of Stand-up. I have always loved comedy.

This is where it all began. In '98 stumbled on a site that had "Cuntface" as background music. Had a player that also included "Cocksucker" and a few more. I thought it was the owner of the site like a newb. Later I learned who Nasenbluten was. When I got deep into vinyl, I had to nab this. #gabber

I got those same pants, for real. Keeping it that way, for real.

Shoulders are what I find the hardest to do. And it is also the most I want to improve on and go big with. It ain't going to come easy.

I just want to see AEW at Aragon. That venue is a bit scared to me as it's the first show I went to in 1988. But I am growing weary of it as of late. I don't think I enjoy it live as much. I miss the commentary and different angles and hearing in ring stuff. I have urges to deep dive Stand-Up lately

*Raises hand* yeah that pretty much explains my entire thing as of late.

I often go on binges of listening to old stuff of mine. Some of it over 30 years old. And I wonder if I would have come up with the same thing all this time later knowing then what I know now. The ignorance was freeing creatively. I can hear myself in those early raw attempts it's great to notice.

I mean, it gets stuck in my head, I end up leaving it on repeat probably does help! #amigacore #gabber

2.5 hours of sleep and off to work I go. Thanks aew.

#aewdynamite at one point during the cage match, the real match was outside. Between a group of loud shirtless children, and my section. Culminating in a "Where's your Mommy?!" Chant. Which actually, they were with two guys....

000

I posted as much as much as I could. I am glued to the matches. Now it's Collision so I don't want to spoil.

Pretty decent seats. Look for an Outrunners reject top right of hardcam. ;) #aewdynamite #aewbeachbreak #nowarena

This fan made their own handmade Mercedes Moné Puppet! And is sitting behind the announce desk a few rows back. It is so nice! No stitches, all glue. #aewdynamite #beachbreak

Ok. The #AEW circus coming to my favorite venue in town is magical treat. Let it be known that many of us locals lovingly call it The Aragon Brawlroom. If you were at that Anthrax/Exodus gig in 1988, well, you know. I have to catch one of those nights for sure.

It is sick. And has a long wrestling history. Been to many a show there as early as 1987 and it hasn't changed. It's a timeless Chicago classic.

My only experience is in sampling commercial works without consent, or within demoscene where all is traded freely and respect is shown by giving credit. The latter is more of what I am considering. I've always given my music for free so I skirt the legalities if any.

Oh, hey. I get to be there LIVE! See y'all in Hoffman Wednesday for #aewdynamite

I had many ideas in my head to sample/remix many of your tunes. If you wouldn't be offended that is.

I hear this regularly. It lives in the mod dir on my phone that gets played on random regularly. It's one of the few non gabber tunes in there ;) this makes me happy.

If I may add. Have you ever done any collaboration with other artists in any way? Especially ones outside your usual style.

I do similar, but it still tends to fit a similar vibe. I mostly don't play metal because I prefer to do it with other people. And bands and messy and expensive, already been down that road. So I make aggressive electronic music because it's cheap and easy and still scratches the same itch.

I have an instrument in almost every room. A bass in one corner, a guitar by the couch. Three next to my desk, etc. and yet I barely play these days.

000

My studio space is also my bedroom. Shared with my wife. Clutter is not even a strong enough word. It makes me anxious. My entire musical inspiration has been anxiety my whole life. I guess it is fitting. It probably can be heard.

I like Ola well enough, i mean, I bought a Solar 7. Never got into The Haunted much. This new track is pretty good. youtu.be/KbpFFUAegTw

Digging around and I could do 10" for around the same price and get triple the time. I could easily fit three tracks per side and would possibly mix each side as one big track each Including three tunes each. Would be a fun project.

000

I managed to find this on Triller. Match of the show! The end was adorable.

000

Do you think if I made a short run of a dozen or so 7" #vinyl singles of a few tracks, they would sell? Maybe $25 shipped to break even. Color or black preferred? Requested tracks? #gabber #dj still doing vinyl?

Speaking of #boozedrome. Any #gabber tracker musicians on the radar here? I want to put together an off season for the fun of it gabber music disc. Doesn't have to be #amiga music disc or anything but just something up on band camp #demoscene folks interested in some #amigacore as well. Hi!

Yelling into the void. I don't so much as stare into it. I more sort of give it annoyed glances and backhanded waves to fuck off while getting shit done.

I still haven't figured that out fully. I mostly just keep to myself and still make and release stuff at my pace without the scene interaction anymore. My default personality is off-putting enough, I let the music do that now.

000

"Will make gabber for demo credits" the cardboard sign reads.

Holy crap this is amazing. New sample sources abound.
