for what benefit, exactly

Honestly cars have also kind of been a disaster for society and the planet on the whole.

And that kind of auto complete was already possible and much cheaper before LLMs. Microsoft had a pretty decent one with intellicode until they made it LLM and server-based which ruined anything good about it

Roger Sauvain maybe. 90-yo guy who does that hike every day

like I'll get to the top of a mountain, see a freeway in the far distance and still be able to hear the cars. It's a crazy amount of noise to be exposed to all the time, and I imagine it's not great for the wildlife either.

The background level of noise just from all the freeways and highways in an American city is completely insane. Even away from the city it's hard to get away from it as long as there's a freeway within a few dozen miles.

They do not have a Canadian office, no.

Buttered barm, meat and potato pie, like he said. It's a pie in a buttered roll

I really truly believe we need to abolish the extremely wealthy as a class of people that's allowed to exist. They are an existential threat

The strawberry farmer starts selling "luxury" strawberries for a hundred thousand dollars each, I guess. The rest of us get screwed

Doodles @doodles117.bsky.social · 03/09/2026
turns out when people accumulate giant piles of money that they don't need, they start doing some real stupid shit with it, huh. Taxes fund services, but I think removing excess money from the wealthy is just as important a feature of (properly done) taxation.

Oh it's 100% bullshit.

Not even sure there's any bribes going on in many cases. AI grifters are leading what's basically a cult. Execs are gullible as hell; a lot of these people are true believers, and probably suffering some pretty bad AI psychosis

Doodles @doodles117.bsky.social · 22/08/2026
That's probably less harmful, but you still need to practice what you're good at, or you will stop being good at it.

Utter insanity.

It really is remarkable how you're misreading everything anyone is saying to you in the worst possible way.

How is this usable *against* TADC

"AI is a tool, just like other tools we use. And it's clearly a useful one." Clearly? Show me the data. Don't clearly me.

Oh dang, I love that passage. I'm always finding excuses like that to go out 'cause I work from home and if I don't go out and be around people I'll go crazy

It took me two and a half years to find a job and I graduated in 2022. Hundreds and hundreds of applications and only a couple interviews. I can't imagine it's better now.

Doodles @doodles117.bsky.social · 26/05/2026
Even more so since LLM reliance prevents people from acquiring skills in the first place. The pipeline that produces skilled coders has a hole in it now
110
Doodles @doodles117.bsky.social · 26/05/2026
What I want to say is that there is real research out there showing LLM usage is corrosive to human reasoning and skills, and if you're relying on humans to validate the output of these so-called tools, then, well... You have a problem.
120
Doodles @doodles117.bsky.social · 26/05/2026
Sure. That doesn't mean it's a good idea, but it's on the bosses and their delusions of efficiency rather than the employees forced to use LLMs
030
Doodles @doodles117.bsky.social · 26/05/2026
No other tool works quite like an LLM does in replacing human reasoning. We do still have people who know how to write assembly and who know how compilers work. But we won't if they just ask an LLM to do their work for them.

Doodles @doodles117.bsky.social · 26/05/2026
How are you going to know if code is written well if all your engineers have been deskilled by reliance on LLMs?

Spend less money on burger

It does, yes. Applies *primarily* to the police, even

Future ones won't be either.

If you can afford to just walk out of your job and get fired, well then lucky you. These Amazon workers don't have your kind of savings

Doodles @doodles117.bsky.social · 13/04/2026
You know, most people need their jobs to live.

Doodles @doodles117.bsky.social · 12/04/2026
That's simply not true. Who's saving money on this shit? Produce evidence.

Electricity has a proven use. AI is currently the most unprofitable enterprise on earth and scales horrifically poorly. LLMs the technology aren't going away, but the insanely expensive chatbots that aren't good for anything may very well fade away.

ah right, our other sanctioned use of transit: going to the airport. I'm just mad the trains don't run later. I had to duck out of an event at seattle center early to catch the last train home and it wasn't even that late.
020
Doodles @doodles117.bsky.social · 07/03/2026
I wish they would at least realize that transit isn't just for going to and from your M-F 9-5 job

Doodles @doodles117.bsky.social · 07/03/2026
Is that true? Even though they took photographic documentation of his current (at the time) sleeve tattoos for his records to grandfather them in, that wouldn't be considered when he re-enlisted?

If this is the fastest-growing, imagine how bad everyone else is doing

It was good, but it really changed a lot of the atmosphere of the game. With Bloodborne the atmosphere is really, really important and I don't really blame Fromsoft for not trusting anyone else with it.

He's 33. Like 20 years younger than her

Her brother is 33; I think he's already familiar with the concept of YTPs

Oh, I get it. *You're* ignorant. Carry on.
100
Doodles @doodles117.bsky.social · 20/02/2026
I don't think that trend ever went away. The amount of "smart" devices/appliances out there has only grown.
010
Doodles @doodles117.bsky.social · 20/02/2026
Of this one specific person, yes. Hardly the working class. Or are all working class people ignorant now?
100
Doodles @doodles117.bsky.social · 20/02/2026
Huh? Laughing at a bizarre (stupid) answer is mocking the working class?

Doodles @doodles117.bsky.social · 17/02/2026
Nothing people actually want to run will run on all these AI data centers. They're highly specialized. The infrastructure isn't there for replacing computers. Like cloud gaming still requires all the same hardware you'd need at home
100
Doodles @doodles117.bsky.social · 25/01/2026
Less so now that they're full of tensor cores alongside the cuda. Tensor cores specifically are completely useless for graphics.

Doodles @doodles117.bsky.social · 25/01/2026
It's definitely more normal than the newer H100/200s so I imagine it would work a little better. How was the performance? I've seen benchmarks before for the A100 but they were significantly worse at graphics benchmarks than the 3000-series cards it was up against

Doodles @doodles117.bsky.social · 24/01/2026
Nvidia AI GPUs use HBM memory, not DDR, so I don't know what you'd put it in.
000
Doodles @doodles117.bsky.social · 24/01/2026
They lack driver support too. Basically worthless for anything other than their stated purpose.

Doodles @doodles117.bsky.social · 24/01/2026
GPU is really just the wrong term for what these are. I guess we're only using it because we don't have another name to use.
