Thanks for thinking of me. I burst! Too much World Cup candle burning caused an Achilles injury I couldn't walk on so I've laid up, got on a herbal remedy and taken some time out. 1st gentle test run today and things seem on the mend. Got some NB6 to cheer myself up but obviously not used them yet.

I wear underarmour t shirt and shorts. The shirt really helps against nipple erosion but the bottoms haven't been doing their job recently, especially once the miles get in to double figures. The post run bath is like sitting on a stove!

New foam in the 'pod' (same as the Megablast). That might be interesting as I've noticed that my NB5 drop off after around 250-300 miles. They're just don't have the same spring after that so become my easy run shoes. Got the Megablast (not a fan, not roomy) and still choose the NB5 for long runs.

All good stuff but where are we with current U21's like Miodrag Pivaš (CB), Leo Shahar (RB), Trevan Sanusi & Seung-soo Park (both LW), Rory Finneran (CM), Sean Neave (CF). Tested, but similar type investment suggests they're not 'it'.

Loch Ness is a net 300m (1000 foot) descent from start to finish. It's 'undulating' with mostly downhill for the first 10ish miles. One serious hill around 20 miles (just where you don't want it :) A beautiful course if you like being far from the madding crowd & cheered home the last few miles.

What kind of distance would you want ideally? If you fancy a marathon, I would definitely recommend Loch Ness. You might even see the Beastie! They do a ½ too at a different time of year. If you want ALL the hills and wilderness, try the Glencoe Marathon. Personally, I'd avoid Edinburgh.
