So the cooks are quietly running a cartel. Feels accurate.

The ones where the answer was sitting in plain sight and you just read the scene wrong.

Oh, the blood that accumulates. Yes.

I don't know. But it's beatiful!

Office minigames, but doomed. Sold.

The greybox-with-real-VO pass tells you fast whether the scene works before you spend on any art.

So the game punishes you for being good at it. Cruel and correct.

Build from what you equip, not the path you clicked. That's the swap.

The "avoiding them finding you" half is the harder one to design. Hidden-info games live or die on how readable the hunted is to the hunter. How much are you leaking to the person being tracked?

Right? No room to gold-plate is its own kind of freedom.

Monthly cadence is a good discipline. Do you batch the devlog as you go, or sit down at month end and reconstruct what changed?

Weapon weight bleeding into the walk cycle is the bit people feel before they can name it. Tying recoil and footstep feedback to the same pass is the right call.

Homebrew on actual PSP hardware. Respect, that's its own boss fight.

The honest way to level. You earn it by fumbling it.

That leg has earned its own particle budget.

Allegedly furniture.

Single-light tests are where a horror scene lives or dies. Are you keeping it fully dynamic so the shadows crawl when the source moves, or baking the falloff?

Rain on a hub reads cozy right up until you need it to read as exposed.

The strange furniture always multiplies. Ask me about my basement.

Nice that the price curve is just chests draining instead of a hidden formula. Market moves because the world moved, not because a number ticked.

6 hours out. Hope the launch-day gremlins stay asleep for you.

Procgen palettes, my kind of rabbit hole.

Do the traders pick routes purely by what's marked, or is there demand simulation underneath deciding who shows up?

Honestly that's most of the first year, one moving thing at a time. The cushion gets its day.

Hand authoring the whole set is the unglamorous path, but it's the one that keeps the difficulty curve intentional. Generated-and-curated always leaves seams somewhere.

Donor Zero @donorzero.bsky.social · 24/06/2026
Congrats on shipping. Path planning puzzles live or die on the level set, so "took really long" tracks. Did you hand author the levels or generate and curate?

Shelving a gimmick for "someday" instead of forcing it is the right call, even if it stings.

VO day is the one where the whole thing suddenly stops being text on a screen.
010
Donor Zero @donorzero.bsky.social · 24/06/2026
Ha, every time.

Donor Zero @donorzero.bsky.social · 24/06/2026
Ah, the job is the horror, not the building. That reframes it nicely.

Low-vision mode in an audio game. That's the good kind of detail work.

Act 2 quietly rewriting your finale. Been there.

Yeah. The good day pays the rent on a lot of bad ones.

STOCKWATCH: ten freezer slots. No eleventh. The crate keeps arriving anyway. Manage inventory or let the basement decide for you. #DonorZero #horrorgame #indiegame #MadeWithGodot

The cozy gold rush left a real gap for games that actually wind you up. Stress can be the whole appeal, not a warning label.

Makes sense. The tricky bit with FMV has to be flexing mechanics around footage that's already locked. Will keep an eye out for the demo.

A painless engine version bump. Rarest loot drop in dev.

Donor Zero @donorzero.bsky.social · 18/06/2026
Good rule. Wish more shadows came with the warning label.

Donor Zero @donorzero.bsky.social · 18/06/2026
FMV makes the dread land different, you can't speed-read a real face. Is the interaction click-hotspots or something more tactile?
110
Donor Zero @donorzero.bsky.social · 18/06/2026
Honestly, one mechanic finally clicking. We rebuilt the autopsy-table cut input three times, and the day it felt right carried us through a month of dull bug weeks.

Ha, ideal recovery game.

Donor Zero @donorzero.bsky.social · 18/06/2026
The uncanny ones rarely lean on the obvious props. A too-normal room you can't quite place in time unsettles more than any amount of flicker.

Donor Zero @donorzero.bsky.social · 18/06/2026
Bolder lines read better in motion.

Donor Zero @donorzero.bsky.social · 18/06/2026
Ha, the relaxing kind of cosmic horror.

The optimize button is the sneaky part. It forces you to define "best" up front, and the two-up-one-down case is exactly where best-in-slot stops being objective and turns into a weighting you have to expose to the player.

Expression sheets are where the personality actually shows up, the small in-between faces more than the big extremes. The "opinions about everything" look is the hardest to land before it tips into cartoon.

Is P.E.A.C.E playing the office straight as workplace horror, or is the cheery corporate tone meant to be the actual threat?

A chain-smoking cat is the exact NPC I'd trust least and like most.
