OK, sorry I haven't been writing here. There is nothing new to update with. Brian is still seriously ill, I'm dealing with our situation as best I can, and am trying to find some joy in the cats, funny things, and throwing myself into making my husband as comfortable as possible.

But what's on my mind the most is Oreo's loss. I can't rationalize or reason it away. We were very close. My heart is broken. No loss of a cat since Davison's unexpected loss in 2017 has hit me this way. I've cried every day since. I can't explain it to Howard and Louie.

And then, Brian had a procedure known as a TIPS, I think, that implanted a shunt bypassing the liver, I think, which is supposed to eliminate or greatly reduce the need for paracentesis; why they didn't do this a year ago is beyond me. He's feeling much better.

Brian has been in the hospital twice this year, the second time for the flu. Tampa General was so crazy, he'll have folks coming in for hospital-level care here at home for at least a few days. I welcome them. I had a flu shot and got like, 1 symptom, but threw off the virus.

In other news: Brian and I attended a Chabad synagogue last Saturday. I won't be back because of a clear anti-psychiatric, anti-therapy bias. Treating Oreo resulted in at least a temporary recovery. The same course of treatment helped Theodora three years ago, giving us 30 more months with her. I hope that it's enough to sustain Oreo likewise, at least. Howard is acting as Prince Regent: Jumoki, the Crown Princess, is not interested.

Oreo has been sick. The Humane Society helped us with his diagnostic work. Could be an infection, could be cancer: we're treating for an infection. This morning was the first time since Saturday that I saw him eat on his own, after which he went out of his way to er, produce stool in front of me.
