2. David joined the Duke of Wellington’s (West Riding) 1st Battalion. Rank Private. Regimental No. 4617792. On 26th April 1944 Private David Bentley was severely wounded during the Battle of Anzio, Italy and died of his wound aged 24. He is buried at Beach Head War Cemetery, Anzio, Italy. #WW2

There was some expectation that she may recover but took a turn for the worse and sadly died on 4th April 1944 aged 24. She is buried at Edgerton Cemetery, Kirklees, West Yorkshire. #yorkshire #WW2 #ATS

2. Gladys joined the Voluntary Aid Detachment Nurse (VAD). Unit Q.A.I.M.N.S. Company WO 329. On 25th August 1916 Service VAD H.M.H.S “Warilda”. On 15th April 1917 she was in France and Belgium. Gladys died while on service of Influenza and Pneumonia on 17th October 1918 aged 29. #VAD #WW1

3. Leading Airman Clifford Donald Airy was killed whilst flying on 14th April 1944 aged 20. He stalled and crashed off Katukurunda, Ceylon when dropping flares during a practice night anti-submarine attack. He is remembered on the Lee-on-Solent Memorial, Hamshire. #WW2

2. Our volunteers have transcribed Birth, Death and Marriage records from all the Parish Churches within the Doncaster Diocese. We also have several transcriptions from Parish Churches within Rotherham area. There are other documents that may help you to trace an Ancestor too. #familyhistory

4. She was awarded the Silver War Badge posthumously, given to service personnel honourably discharged from military service due to wounds or sickness. Staff Nurse Anne Veronica Fletcher is buried at Spital Cemetery, Chesterfield, Derbyshire. #WW2

3. Transferred to Walton Sanatorium but later died on 14th March 1918 aged 27 at home in Spital Gardens. Described in her notes as a 'difficult' personality and did not get on with her colleagues and there is a suggestion she was a suffragette. #WW1
