In a time of mounting pressure on our ocean, New Caledonia's announcement for a 50-year moratorium on deep seabed mining is an important milestone. It strengthens protection of the Coral Sea Natural Park from surface to seabed. I applaud the inspiring leadership, showing progress is possible.

#JulesVerneTrophy is one of sailing's toughest challenges: 33 attempts, 14 completions, 9 records. The recently aborted attempts serve as a powerful reminder of just how unforgiving this challenge can be. Nine years ago, I was privileged to complete it: 47 days, 25'000nm, resilience and teamwork.
