Yet one more reason to give thanks aplenty to Elizabeth Boleman-Herring and the other folks at WEEKLY HUBRIS, this time for enabling me to gather all my “Homer” poems together in one place, ala The Phaeakians. weeklyhubris.com/drifting-tow... #Bookstagram, #Bookish, #BookCommunity

What a joy returning for three weeks this past July to the “Cyclops Cove.” What I call the bay on Kythnos from which sprang my memoir now that the cave—that primitive domicile I lived in in the ‘90s—is no longer there. Its spirit, though, like the island’s drystone walls, will always be there.

Just back from Crete where I spent several days in Matala (think Joni Mitchell's "Blue") with my dear friends and fellow poets Michael and Mihaela, and took a quick jaunt to Rethymno to visit another longtime friend (and former ULV colleague) Chris Parnassus and some of her good friends.

Warm thanks to the San Francisco Book Festival curating committee for awarding FROM THE CYCLOPS CAVE Honorable Mention in this year’s Memoir category. Their recognition feels especially gratifying since part of my book is set in the City, where I lived in my mid-teens (corner of Fulton and Steiner).
