I was about to post "Has Harward heard of Occam's Razor?"

Harwood, Tom? Shuffles mental rolodex...Ahh, yes. Seems Mr Harwood has as firm a grasp of Geography as he does Constitutional Law.

So the statement from the police said (according to Sky). Under those circs, pre-trial remand can only be viewed as a charitable act, a solution to Thomas' "unhoused" issue.

...criminal damage, criminal damage with intent to endanger life, and conduct endangering ships, structures or individuals under Section 58 of the Merchant Shipping Act 1995. The "of no fixed abode" is perfection, given his "give my mum a house" bluster.

From Sky News, 09.20 am: Last night (Wednesday 23 September), a 37-year-old man, of no fixed abode, was arrested on suspicion of destroying ships or fixed platforms or endangering their safety under Section 11 of the Aviation and Maritime Security Act 1990...

Presumably his existing criminal convictions will come into play when determining the sentence for this, along with his online history. A record of prison time for violence against people tends to lead to more prison time when you're again violent against people.

Have you ever been on a boat mid-Channel, Samantha? Because people who have generally take safety quite seriously rather than glibly dismissing the danger of going in the water. As well as recognise a dry suit when they see one.

If you were in the pool because someone had shoved you in or deliberately caused you to lose balance, you inhaled water because of cold water shock and you drowned immediately, or developed pulmonary edema and died, it wouldn't be treated as an unfortunate accident. See how it works?

And just to knock this on the head: "The RNLI volunteer had a drysuit and life jacket". No, he wasn't wearing a dry suit. And you can drown while wearing a life jacket.

The dinghy was under the command of the RNLI Coxswain; it was the RNLI's boat at that point. A rescue worker, also under the command of the RNLI Coxswain, was on the dinghy. Thomas knew that a rescue worker was on the dinghy when he slashed it. Destruction of property. Endangering life at sea

You can drown in "literally flat calm" water. The coked-up failed scaffolder wasn't "stage-managing" anything. And he's going to find in court that whinging "Well I dodn't think it was dangerous" is no defence to deliberate breaches of international Maritime regulations.

Are we taking bets on how long she'll last and what will bring her down? More than eight months and she gets to call herself "Longest-lasting Reform UK in Wales leader".

"All Rivers Spill Their Stories to the Sea" is a fabulous documentary about fishermen in Hartlepool/Teeside and the shellfish die-off. Not on streaming yet, but apparently it'll be in independent cinemas from October.

Western woman here. I don't find it disconcerting. Nor do I assume my particular foibles are shared by everyone from the same geographical location and, possibly, the same ethnic group.

To paraphrase Stewart Udall: "Harbourne has, I fear, confused wealth with personal worth."

For some reason, "Lurch" at the back, in the tasteful grey ensemble, reminds me of the scene from Four Lions, where the character "disguises" himself as a woman, and hides his beard by holding his hands over his chin.

As we all know, chunky legs need a bit of a heel. So what we really need is someone skilled in photoshop to take a still, and add a few, summer-colour slingbacks, to show those boys how to rock their look. Some diamante would work and, hell, why not, a few handbags...

I read somewhere on here today that the reason Mrs Thomas' address is in the public domain is because her son used it to register a company at Companies House. Don't know if that is correct or not.

I think Farage might find "I wasn't listening", "No one's interested in this stuff", "Boring" and "The media is picking on me" aren't really gping to work as answers to the Met's questions.

I emailed Mr Webb direct, asking (among other things) on what basis he distinguishes between "British man who identifies as Jewish" and "British Jew", and on what basis he applies that distinction to Ed Miliband. Doubt I'll get a reply, but...

Apparently they went home by train. Did they individually pay for their tickets, using (traceable) cards or banking apps? Or were the tickets bought for them, using (traceable) online payment?

Is it definite that the name on the van is JC Payne? The company seems to be sizeable, with a professional website - and a "contact us" page.
