I’m happy to say after spending an hour on it between my steam deck and machine, this game runs wonderfully and is very much just the old game but looks way nicer. The controls though are awkward. I think I’ll be remapping for sure.

WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU MEAN FOUR MORE CAMPAIGNS?!

Dom Spizzirri @domspizzirri.bsky.social · 13/10/2026

My wife and I took a week off work and I thought to myself, “I’ll just play a lot of Gears E-Day.” And then I said, “or I’ll start Fire Emblem so I can play it everywhere we go.” I’ve put 16 hours into it so far. It’s all I can think about.

And by more I mean third party titles. So basically a ton of game key cards. Part of me say, “no.” Or maybe wait for those days where they all go on sale and I can pick up a bunch for super cheap, but I already own all those (or most) on PC. 🤔

Bought a handful more of Switch 2 physicals. Now at this point I think I officially own everything ideally I’d like to have physically with the exception of Tennis Fever and Party Jamboree. I’m not sure if either of those are “worth it”, probably not, but I’m happy. Question is…do I collect more?

I have to buy this game now don’t I?

000

Dom Spizzirri @domspizzirri.bsky.social · 08/10/2026

Gosh I wished I enjoyed this game as much as yall.

Dom Spizzirri @domspizzirri.bsky.social · 07/10/2026

Same honestly. The aesthetic turned me off, especially during the Xbox One era where I think I was at my most snooty. But now that I’m older and I know this franchise is truly harmless and just fun for fun sake, I am into it a lot more.

Big men (and sometimes women) with big chins fight big monsters that may be residents of the planet or aliens or human made or whatever anymore doesn’t matter. They say, “boom”. Your gun has a chainsaw and sometimes a bayonet. It’s a 10/10 franchise.

I played Act 1 of Gears of War: E-Day last night and just had a giant smile on my face.

I hate saying this, but I wish I liked Control Resonant as much as I love Alan Wake and Control. The spongyness of the combat, and just New York environment itself just makes me not want to play it. The vibes aren’t even saving it for me.

Got a invite for Deadlock. Played one match. I’m not sure I like it…

Is this why they get nothing done?

001

Dom Spizzirri @domspizzirri.bsky.social · 24/09/2026

I keep having that thought too. Like I’m keeping it for the hope of fear that some day a State of Play happens and boom here’s a bunch of awesome looking single player titles that are PS exclusive and they’re not just four God of Wars.

Dom Spizzirri @domspizzirri.bsky.social · 24/09/2026

That’s my thought. Sure I’d purchase the new GoW, but beyond that…I have no idea what (or when) intergalactic is, and that could be years away still.

Dom Spizzirri @domspizzirri.bsky.social · 24/09/2026

Sold my Ally X. I still look at my PS5 and wonder if it’s worth keeping around out of hope future PS games are for me, or just accept that’s years from now and they could by all means just port to PC again in 5 or so years. Everything I play nowadays is on PC or Switch.

If this is good…I’m in. I want a new shooter. As much as I love returning to Halo, I’d like to play something different. PvE and TDM Is how you get me. Long live arena.

Dom Spizzirri @domspizzirri.bsky.social · 22/09/2026

I’m a massive Halo fan, and I should be happy that Halo continues to live on, but having it made by Activision, I just have a bad feeling that whatever they make is not going to be good.

000

Dom Spizzirri @domspizzirri.bsky.social · 20/09/2026

Yes, absolutely. I’m just going back and purchasing physicals now.

Bought it on steam but if it ever comes to switch 2 physically, I’ll be there!

010

Dom Spizzirri @domspizzirri.bsky.social · 15/09/2026

To me this just isn’t good enough. It should not have been anything other than a single player campaign to begin with.

000

Dom Spizzirri @domspizzirri.bsky.social · 15/09/2026

Yeah my 5070 will work for now. I’d love more vram that the ti offers but welp.

They are, but I highly doubt it’ll last. Especially all this poor PR. I can see them porting again later.

010

Dom Spizzirri @domspizzirri.bsky.social · 10/09/2026

I can’t wait for them to inevitably bring this to PC. I firmly believe it’ll happen. I love playing it on PS5, but mouse and keyboard?

Oof. Thats a pretty varied score. I figured it would just get straight 8’s across the board but the having a few being lower is a bit shocking.

Dom Spizzirri @domspizzirri.bsky.social · 10/09/2026

The one thing I wish we got for yesterday’s Nintendo Direct was a Switch 2 performance patch for Metroid Dread. I know the game already runs very well but imagine a 4K/60 on tv or 1080/120 on handheld upgrade. Hopefully they do that prior to Ravenous’s release.

I’m strongly debating again just selling my PS5 Pro. It’s just that 50:50 mentality of do I keep it to play those inevitable exclusives, or do I just realize I have plenty to play elsewhere, and just enjoy my time on PC and Switch which is 95% of my game time anyway.

010

Dom Spizzirri @domspizzirri.bsky.social · 09/09/2026

I am sad to report that I missed the special edition going live for Metroid. 😞 But I did preorder physical anyway. I guess I’m starting a Switch collection again.

Between Zelda, Godzilla, and now Metroid. I’ve had a very good Tuesday/Wednesday. Also, I’m going to lose so much money.

That’s incredible. I do have a windows PC (if we don’t include my work ones too). But it’s a Nvidia card so I’m a little stuck. Once SteamOS works on it, I think I’ll be switching pretty quick. That or upgrading, but who knows.
