“Air pollution fell substantially as Paris restricted car traffic and made way for parks, people-streets and bike-lanes.” Better for the climate, better for health, better for livability and quality of life. Common sense. Such a no-brainer, it’s remarkable that more cities HAVEN’T done the same.

Paris said au revoir to cars. Air pollution maps reveal a dramatic change.

I found having conversations with the new Siri quite useful. I could ask about “getting directions to the street my friend texted me about a few weeks ago” or have it explain some historical context or natural phenomenon completely hands-free.

I think we will need a few active folks to kick off the conversations and reach critical mass.

Dominik Moritz @domoritz.de · 19/09/2026
Yes, the experience with discord where conversations stayed siloed and ended after the conference was another big motivator. I’m happy people are excited about the experiment and even proposed to not have slido but use bluesky discussions for everything.

That would be cool. @eugenevinitsky.bsky.social already offered to help in bsky.app/profile/euge.... We like to have the discussions where the papers and schedule are and already have our own website but I’d be happy to try a Lea page as well. What do you need from us to set that up?

I think we can include workshops as well. The idea would be that there is a discussion thread per workshop that the organizers can use however they see fit. I'll capture it at github.com/ieee-vgtc/ie....

Oh sweet. I wrote up the general architecture etc at www.domoritz.de/blog/2026/09.... It worked super well so I don't have any questions right now. I think after the conference could be a great time to promote it as we will have real feedback then.

I’m thinking how we can design concise yet customizable/expressive APIs. Maybe agents need to work with abstractions that they can break down if needed. Plot’s API is beautiful but doesn’t “compile” to D3 code so an agent can’t easily move one abstraction level down.

When using Microsoft Word or Google Docs, don't just make text bigger and bolder to make it a heading. That will work for sighted users, but screen reader users will miss that and just hear it as normal paragraph text. Use actual heading styles, like level 1 through 6.
