I actually had a really awesome birthday weekend despite the rain and weird waves of sadness I get in the run up. Bakery treats, Coffee, Birria tacos and watching Forgotten Island with @horrorhippies.bsky.social was especially fun ^^

It’s difficult to imagine an outsider researching the topic with nuance. Even if they were successful, it would only take an editor to completely undo it all if they decided to frame the topic in bad faith

Was riding the high of trying out meal prepping lunches I can freeze only to discover I have some kind of egg intolerance. EGG RAGE is a thing apparently? Symptoms include bran fog, irritability and depression 🙃

I've got criticisms here and there but overall it was fun and engaging which always beat boring. Big win for the recognition of indie animation, feels good to support it 💚

It's easier to play with the toys provided than question why they're cheap/free. YOU are the product, YOU will pay endless subscriptions for what you're lead to believe you need. You're being de-skilled in real time and they're selling the "solution" right back to you. Perceived progress, no EXP.

IDK dude let's be real the technological leap to harvest the content of the web and mash it together into unpredictable results is scifi made reality but normies often glaze over the "Why are we doing this?" question. Scams are so common most don't want to acknowledge what is staring back at them

If someone is mentally checked out to the point where they need AI to write emails then I have to assume there's a shallow depth of understanding. If the output is ostensibly indistinguishable then how can I convince you that art/media requires mental engagement beyond passive consumption?

From time to time I think about when I got a little too important at work and they started flying me out to conference shit. Hit a mental wall so hard in Vegas I thought I was gonna have an aneurysm. Only thing keeping me sane was fellow disillusioned queer coworkers keeping it real wuuuh

Still grieving that I've given some of my best years of creativity and effort to a corp job and I'm left coping with the burnout 11 years later. I try not to focus on what I could have achieved if I poured that into my own pursuits. I have something to show for my sacrifice at least, I'm just tired
