Although individual states may have a higher minimum wage the Federal minimum wage has not changed since 2009 at $7.25 per hour. Capitalism is good for the rich but needs greater control if it is to benefit workers.

The whole situation is quite disgusting and I am astounded that the USA politicians, from all parties,have not put a stop to this abuse of the presidential position. The Republican Party in particular should be ashamed of itself and it has certainly called into question the credibility of the party.

Did you know that when slavery was abolished by the U.K. in 1833 the government agreed to pay compensation to the slave owners, the loan to do this was only finally paid off in 2015. What other loans are the U.K. taxpayers still paying off?

Our problems today are not caused by immigrants but by an almost criminal class of supremely rich oligarchs who are influencing governments in their own interests. We have reached a stage which is quite dangerous for our democracy and I don’t think we fully realise what is happening.

If the world wants to stop widespread immigration then get rid of poverty, autocratic rulers, religious extremists, corporate greed and stop all the wars. It also be helpful to reduce the use of fossil fuels so that we still have a world to live in.
