Another cracker from @michaeljecksauthor.bsky.social Characters that you really care about (- plus wrong 'uns who need their just deserts), in vividly described settings so you feel you are marching and fighting with them. The "now what?" felt by most of them at the end is particularly poignant.

"When Beasts Spoke" by the hugely talented @cstrawbridgeart.bsky.social arrived yesterday and I cannot tell you how absolutely beautiful it is. The artwork is stunning, and the words are gorgeous and thought provoking. If you've not bought a copy, you really should!

Have just finished reading 38 Londres Street by Philippe Sands, as recommended by @dianecoyle1859.bsky.social a while ago. I knew nothing of the evils of Pinochet or his relationship with Nazis who fled to Chile, and this was a fascinating read despite the horrors of the story. Thank you, Diane!

Thoroughly enjoyable couple of afternoons in the company of Nick Morris, thanks to @michaeljecksauthor.bsky.social A complex plot but written so it was easy to follow. Really evocative descriptions of Piacenza, characters you can visualise, and a lovely dry humour throughout. Highly recommend!

I had the most wonderful surprise from my husband on Christmas day. A @awatercolouraday.bsky.social original - this beautiful wren. The posts here are stunning, but you don't appreciate the detail, colour, and delicacy of these birds until you see them for real. I am thrilled beyond measure!

Spent a fabulous few hours in the company of the Fairway Players, courtesy of @janicehallett.bsky.social. LOVED it! Made me chuckle, chortle, gasp, and I completely failed to work out whodunnit until it was it spelled out. Highly highly recommended!

Just finished reading "The Watch House" by Jenny Ashcroft. it was a real page-turner, with a slight Rebecca/Jane Eyre feel. Definitely recommend.
