I've got vertigo. it's an exciting inner ear issue that means I can't stand up unless I hold on to something solid. it is, basically, all the shit bits of being very drunk without any of the upsides. It's like living in a constant world of trying not to look pissed in front of your parents.

Well.... Yes, no, no. Evenepoel was dauntingly good. Won by nearly a minute from Ganna, and was winding it down a bit into the last couple of km. I wonder what Van Aert made of that, as he sets up to share a Belgian team with him next weekend at the road race.

We're into the last four stages of Volta Portugal. First time it's been shown in the UK, and it's been fantastic. Lots of Portuguese teams and riders racing like they're trying to make things interesting, and UAE not getting things their own way. Cant' recommend enough. From 15.30 BST TNT/HBOmax.

Bra-padding issue at the Tour de France Femmes: it's clear that putting material in the gap behind arms around the torso is an aero advantage -- witness triathlete bottle placement in there. It could be most of a second-per-km faster.
