Interesting (to me at least) on ITFC-- in addition to no ITFC preseason matches showing up on any of the sports streams in the USA, I can't find a team-released highlights package, training clips, etc. on YouTube. All their content locked down on their in-house video service--only PL team like that

cont. -You all saw the shield. ARS DEF not so bad. Donnarumma poor. Looked like first session together for City. But ditching city assets w/BOU(h) next seems crazy. -Watched as much of Newcastle as I could. Not a good team. -Viewed Palace highlight package--not one highlight was theirs! Hendo inj?

8/12 EVE-NEW -Result says more about how poor NEW are than how good EVE are? Target NEW until they prove otherwise -Right now, similar EVE personnel as last yr when GW31 was last win+CS -George nice goal. Total=1 in PL career -Not a foul on KDH in box. Ndiaye took pen tonight but not last time

8/9 ARS-BVB -Warming to Tzolis (6.5 MID) -Again MLS fine w/ off. distribution as deep midfielder. Poor though w/ def. recognition, intervention. Jogs back like a 9, doesn't close down shots (BVB goal 2), etc. Compare w/ Rice, Zubs. Me= 0 or 1 ARS DEF if MLS in that role GW1 -White or Mosquera GW1?

Nice summary. Not much to take from these exhibitions. Forest have two home friendlies this week coming where I expect you’ll see the first choice team. Wood’s fitness and age probably end him as an FPL option. Williams got a shot away in a good position. Murillo is back. Diomande signing.

8/9 JDT-CHE (in Malaysia) -Match for few dozen CHE squad members who didn't get minutes yesterday -Wonderful to take 2-wk money-making preseason trip around the globe. Can't see any way that this squad/team/coaching staff is settled, fit and firing before about GW7. -Only JP in my GW1 FPL team?

8/8 BHA-ROM --Ayari (5.5) my fav BHA player. IMO better in front of goal than Gomez (5.0). But worth #FPL slot over Gross (5.5) or Gomez? Xmin good for all in short term --Minteh hurt. Didn't look great --Rutter (5.5 FWD). Not a 9 but nice ⚽ from RW + assist --Thin in many positions now except CB

I recognize one of those boys on the right. My son's US college soccer journey has brought him home to Indiana University, winner of US-best 8 college titles since 1982 (but none for a decade+). As opening game approaches, excited to see how this group comes together this fall in search of number 9!

I played for the 1st time last yr. League organized by @fpl-gills.bsky.social. Really nice person, sadly taking FPL break this yr. Think we had ~50 in league-- all BlueSky? Others may know more re: history of the format. League needs to be small enough to check that players stay in budget each GW.

I messed around a bit w/ a 30m ITB team. ~Minimums of 4.0x5 in DEF, 4.5x8 MID/FWD and 4.5/4.0 GKs leaves 5.5m in additional funds to spread across 15 players. 25m ITB (10.5m discretionary) could be an interesting variation to throw off those who mastered the 30m last year. Either way, thanks!

8/7 AVL-BAY (in HK) --Much changed Bayern. Their first ⚽ on set piece, 2nd electric Diaz (on @ 63') --Gomes (5.5) played 90, couple shots (+⚽) late and good defcon? Similar to last yr, mids maybe good on defcon (DEF not except Maatsen today)? --Keep eye on Buendia (6.0); young attacker may pop up?

8/5 BET-ARS (Dublin) --Same 11 as last friendly. --BET G1. Mosquera panics, puts out for corner instead of throw. Kepa, Mosquera, Hincapie make a mess of resulting corner. --ARS goal off corner; any of 5 ARS players could have netted it. --Thought MLS was poor as a 6. Nwaneri, Havertz didn't help

LEE --H1 Midfield absent and LIV overran them. Tanaka, James poor imo. Team much better H2 w/ Longstaff, Aaronson, DCL. 2 goals on long throws headed by LEE DEF across to DCL alone at back post --Definitely up for LEE DEF GW1-5. See who's healthy but likely Muharemovic --Healthy DCL best 6.0 FWD

LIV cont. --So who is playing DEF/MID and can they stop anyone? I like GW1-4 fixtures but not enough to pick LIV DEF (+Frimpong already hurt?) --Iraola going to have to play some kids. I think Rio (6.0) starts GW1 but, at best, minutes managed like Kroupi last yr (<1700 PL mins) --GW1=Szobo✅ Rio⁉️

8/1 Girona-ARS --Some good offensive performances (e.g., Dowman) but how many PL minutes for any of them? --My attention was on defense. 3 of 4 likely in GW1 played >60. Mosquera safest mins of the 5.5s; rash at times. White + Cala w/ upside as 5.5 FBs if either/both can stay healthy next 3 weeks.
