Just FYI, they've been doing this for a while now.
They made cans that had 99¢ printed on them, but they also made cans without a preprinted price so retailers can sell them at a higher price. Local gas station has been selling them at $1.99 since sometime last year.

So not even Homebrew is going to support Intel Macs now? My trusty 2018 Mac Mini has been my daily driver for 8 years. Somehow I have to get an ARM-based Mac that doesn't have a dogshit amount of RAM. My 2018 Mini has 64GB. The cheap entry-level M1-based Macs shipped with 8GB or 16GB.
