Every now and then one of my grandchildren will ask me if I was in a war. I told them that I haven’t served in combat but I served during a time of war. So yes not everyone in the army goes to war. But we all serve.

55 years ago I married this young woman on this day 19 March. We met in high school in 67. We married my second year at college. We had 5 children. When we were six months away from our 50 wedding anniversary she passed. We had fight even though of divorce but worked through it. I miss her now.

Me I was fat as an officer (O-3) . I eared The EFMB as a fat Officer. It requires a 12 mile road march in 3 hrs. I did mine in 2:55. Walked many a skinny young people into the ground. Physical activity is in the mind!
