Braved the holiday makers at Dawlish Warren today (late afternoon) in hope of finding some Autumn Lady's-tresses (Spiranthes spiralis). I was pleased to find some, but I fear they have been affected by the heatwaves this year. #WildFlowerHour

Common Heather (Calluna vulgaris) and Western Gorse (Ulex gallii) looking beautiful up on Dartmoor last Friday. Also saw some gorse overgrown with the parasite Dodder (Cuscuta epithymum), which has tiny pale flowers and tangles of red thread-like stems. For #WildFlowerHour

A couple of #WallPlants for #WildFlowerHour - Ivy-leaved Toadflax (Cymbalaria murals) in Exeter and the aptly named Pellitory of of the Wall (Parietaria judaica) in Bovey Tracey. They are very hardy to be able to grow on walls and in cracks and survive the recent heatwaves.

Common Fleabane (Pulicaria dysenterica) doing quite in the drought conditions at National Trust Parke (nr. Dartmoor/Bovey Tracey). I was able to enter areas that normally would be far too boggy. Very nice to see a fresh Painted Lady butterfly enjoying these plants. #WildFlowerHour #DaisyFamily

We saw a lot of this at Cheddar Gorge this afternoon - sharing it because it truly is tiny, but I’m not sure what it is and I suspect the photo doesn’t show enough of the plant. Anyhow: #WildFlowerID #TinyPlants #WildFlowerHour Possibly Lesser Trefoil (Trifolium dubium)?
