A few years after R.E.M. released their song referencing Rather's attack, law enforcement officers tracked down the perpetrators, putting an end to the conspiracy once and for all. Police arrested William Tager for the death of an NBC technician, whom Tager shot outside of Today's New York studios in 1994. Tager believed the news channels––in this case, NBC––were transmitting signals (or frequencies) to his brain that were disrupting and ruining his life. After police apprehended Tager, they cross-referenced Rather's account of his 1986 attack with Tager's and determined that the same man who shot the NBC technician was the one who started assaulting Rather on Park Acenue. Tager went to prison, and the conclusion of the mystery restored Rather's credibility.
"I was very luxky and blessed that he didn't kill me that night," Rather said.

Not the most interesting design for a button, but you try fitting anything into a 2.25" wide circle and not have it be crowded. Brown's campaign office was by Loring Park in a building owned by the publisher of the Utne Reader. He visited once. #ThingThursday

It's post-county fair pre-state fair season. I once went on The Zipper with my sister at the Brown County Fair. At that time I used a gas mask bag for a purse. I had a deck of cards in it. The Zipper "pod" we were in had a hole in the screen. 1/

I found an ancient post-it while cleaning my desk. It said, "2 tbsp honey, 1 cup water, apple slices, 30 seconds" Don't remember writing it or why. So tried it out. My assumption was that it would keep the apple from turning brown. The slices were lighter than the photo on the right shows. So 👍

I bought this purse at an antique store on Snelling near the St. Clair Broiler. The store was called Rose's Attic or something of that nature. It originally had a "protective" layer of cellophane that was very fragile. #ThingThursday

I dig greens from Revol Greens: www.revolgreens.com Or Bright Farms. They're greenhouse grown so no pesticides or manure. I still put them in a bath of slightly soapy water and lemon juice. I'm just that way. But I'm never sick.

These are my paternal grandfathers spectacles that we found in the farmhouse we moved into a decade or so ago. We featured them on a wall in the livingroom while we were there. Now they're in my studio. #ThingThursday (The color of the photo isn't true. Don't know what's up with that.)

My mom told me when I was a kid that flamenco dancers had ailing kidneys because of all the stomping the dance required. Decades later I ate lunch daily with a co-worker who danced flamenco. I forgot about this factoid, so never asked her about it. MISSED OPPORTUNITY!

Hitchcock's The Birds made a longlasting impact on my psyche. So when a bird flies right at me into the window in front of me, it leaves an impression on more than the glass.

An album of street vendor calls/chants/songs. I bought this at Face the Music in Rochester, MN. The first commercial I ever produced as an intern was for them. I dug the store so made up a storyboard full of New Wave zeal and gave it to their ad rep. They're still in business! #ThingThursday

Thing Thursday Everyone in the Design Department got to go the BDA (Broadcast Designers Association) convention in the Pacific Northwest except me. I was new and somebody had to stay put for any Design Emergencies. They brought me souvenirs, one of which was this wee container of Mt. St. Helens ash.

A clear plastic cube with a black base containing ash. Printing on the cube says, "Mt. St. Helens Ash May 18, 1980" accompanied by a drawing of the erupting volcano.
