I love when people complain about "counterwatch" in #overwatch -- it's like complaining when a carpenter swaps from a hammer to a screwdriver because they are working with a screw and not a nail. 😂 #videogames

After watching the latest #overwatch short, this came to mind. 😅

Sometimes I think being a #dungeonmaster is great training for spy work, because we are always saying things like, “I can neither confirm nor deny that your stealth roll worked.” #dungeonsanddragons #ttrpg

Getting my #eyeexam and TIL that it's a lot easier to keep my eye open for that cursed puff of air when I actually physically cover the other eye.

Actually joined a football pool for the first time in my life with the family. When do I get that Fanduel sponsorship?

Whenever I start to feel good about things, I just hop into a couple of games of ranked #overwatch -- that usually cures it.

Matt Plotecher @dmplots.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

Just tried the #noescape #boardgame with the family and it was much more for the second time around when I actually was playing it right; the first time, I kept looking for a mythical "escape pod" tile. Do not ask me why I thought that there was one.

Looks like the #faeries are constructing a new ring by my house. FINALLY, some good news.

010

Matt Plotecher @dmplots.bsky.social · 04/09/2026

Thinking that the #darksun #dungeonsanddragons campaign setting really was a precursor to the #darksouls franchise -- a land that is dying, and, at best, you can just keep it going a little longer.

My wife and I watched "Divorce Italian Style" and it's always impressive when you laugh at the jokes despite the era or language. Just don't think too much about age or relation of the love interest. 😅 www.imdb.com/title/tt0055...

If people who oppose generative AI are “Luddities,” then would people who are proponents for it be considered “WalterKeanes?” I’m actually surprised I haven’t seen more anti-GenAI folks reference Walter Keane, given his, uh, enthusiasm for using new methods of creating art. 😅

Had a friend talking about driving long distances with his EV, and how it was nice in that it made them take breaks more often; made me think it would be neat if this started a new type of infrastructure and approach to long car drives; put the "rest" back into "rest stop." #roadtrip

NGL, the trailer for #dungeonsanddragons new #darksun setting was... underwhelming. Maybe spend less time on the guy getting his head ripped off and more on hinting the species, dragon kings, and world? Still excited, though. 😅 youtu.be/9CtTscZmdw0?...

Another thing about those #rescuerangers episodes: it never hit me before just how many episodes take place AFTER a case is finished that we never get to see; Gadget Goes Hawaiian, Dirty Rotten Diapers, Kiwis Big Adventure, etc. 😅

010

Matt Plotecher @dmplots.bsky.social · 25/07/2026

Rewatching #rescuerangers, and I realized that on Disney+ the quality is great but they have cropped the 4:3 aspect ratio to 16:9; not a big deal, but there are times when it's clear that the original image was not framed for widescreen.

Do any #ttrpg folks feel upset if players use Gen AI for their character portraits? I personally don't, because for years I was just using Google image search to find cool images others had drawn for my own characters. 😅 #dungeonsanddragons #genai

Matt Plotecher @dmplots.bsky.social · 27/06/2026

Just chatting with some #ttrpg friends and fellow #dungeonsanddragons kith, and I realized that maybe one of the whole points of being a #dungeonmaster is just removing the friction of the rules from the players. It's not how crunchy the rules are, but how smooth you make them for the table.

I did something last night in my #dungeonsanddragons game that I have been wanting to do a while. I introduced the party to a dog (a Manchester Terrier to be precise.) The party fell in love with it. It tagged along. And gave them heart attacks as it keep rushing to fight the Yuan-Ti. #ttrpg

Last 4 TTRPG I played: D&D 2024 Star Wars End of Empire D&D 2014 Savage Worlds Deadlands And yes, I consider 2024/2014 rulesets separate TTRPGs because that potion as a Bonus Action COMPLETELY changes how encounters are run. 😂
