As a daughter, some of my strongest memories from early childhood are my dad reading to me at bedtime. It's not just hearing the story; it's the interaction, the shared ritual, and the time spent together. I'm sure your daughter will feel the same for the rest of her life.

Yes, Joni Ernst, senator from Iowa, in a town hall. Someone in the audience said people would die as a result of ACA subsidy cuts. She started saying, "no one's going..." then changed her mind and said, "well, we're all going to die, people!" Nailed it!

Same thing happens in Word documents. I wrote it, Word knows I wrote it, I remember what I wrote, and I don't need a summary.

What is the blobby thing with the human face next to the chair? Is it supposed to be a child in a costume? It's kinda weird.

Girls can like dinosaurs. When I was a little girl, I loved going to the natural history museum to see the dinosaur skeletons. I had a dinosaur pop-up book. I don't recall having a single thing with a unicorn.

#caturday morning coffee on the porch with the kitties. Lucy likes sitting on the porch swing. And we discovered the next door neighbor has a cat who looks like a littler Rusty. 😻

There were sweets around the house, like cookies and candy bars, for random snacking. But we didn't have pie or anything after dinner. I think an entire generation grew with what you describe being the common definition of strawberry shortcake. 😆

Mom almost always served something sweet along with dinner, like fruit or jello. Or sugared tomatoes. I think they were quasi-desserts, since we didn't usually have dessert unless it was a special occasion.

Yes, I'd completely forgotten, but we used to have sliced tomatoes with sugar when I was a kid. It was a side dish with dinner sometimes.
