I almost never comment on political issues publicly, or swear, but what the actual fuck? No sane timeline has executions and livestreaming even existing at the same time in history. www.abc.net.au/news/2026-10...

First used Goodreads: There was an obvious toggle to mark books you owned. Recently: The toggle got moved, buried, & hard to find. Today: The toggle is gone completely. Help: “Owned functionality has not been supported for years.” Why even have a book database if you can't track owned books??

Bogong moths are swarming Sydney. This is good news! The species was endangered after a 99.5% population crash in 2017-19 due to drought/climate change. But they are rebounding and this is the first swarming I’ve seen since then. www.abc.net.au/news/2026-09... #bogong #moth #nature #sydney

Friends and I complaining about Internet-connected appliances: - Our washing machine has modes you can unlock with an account. - They should have modes that you can only unlock as loot drops. - If you include gambling elements on washing machines they could be used for laundering. - “Spin to win.”

The 9/11 attacks began at bedtime in my time zone. I’d already turned off TV for the night. I was sick and slept in the next morning, and didn’t see any news until about 9am, almost 12 hours after the attacks began. I might have been one of the last people in a First World country to hear about it.

Question for non-Australians: Does your culture have the well-known phrase “the good scissors”? A pair of sewing scissors reserved for cutting fabric, distinct from the everyday scissors, used for everything else. Children were always warned against and admonished for using “the good scissors”.

Nobody's "responsible" for the luck of die rolls. I do player-facing rolls because it's more fun for them to roll dice. They don't care about being "responsible" for a bad defence roll and getting hit. Just my 2 cents.
