A week of painting Charlie from Drive-Away Dolls. The whole time, I’m wondering if he made it out alive. Save Charlie.

I transitioned from photography to sketching last year, then to painting this year. Progress dump of painting sketch book from the last couple of weeks. Painting the same frame over and over as an exercise seems to be working for me.

Climbing trees with Lily (IG: lily.mcelveen) back in 2019. #photography #filmphotography #35mm #filmisnotdead #art

Color photo of a young, white woman leaning on a thick, diagonal branch of a heritage oak tree. Behind her smaller branches stretch out against a sunset sky fading from light blue to yellow. The woman is wearing a light pink, pleated dress with puffed, sheer sleeves that end at the middle of her upper arm. The dress is cinched at her waist. Her hands rest behind her on the top of the branch. She has waist-length brown hair that is pulled forward and falls down both sides of her neck, and obscures the left-hand side of her face. Her head is tilted back slightly and her eyes are focused above & behind the camera’s lens.

Years ago, double exposure while visiting Mariangela in NYC. #filmphotography #doubleexposure #35mm

Double exposure on 35mm film. One exposure shows a landscape oriented sunset with the sky fading from purple to red orange, overlapped with black branches of trees. The second exposure is a blurry portrait photo of a woman standing sideways focusing a rolleiflex camera pointed directly at the viewer.
