Also I may have promised I would try to convince @riley.sbug.games to join in with us next year. And suggested I have much more influence over that possibility than i do. There are some serious fans of isopods to the point they were using our "suggest a beetle" sheets to suggest isopods instead.

Happy to have a big long chat with you all about it 😀 It was so so interesting and delightful ❤️ Overall it made it obvious steam/pax/game events are bubbles and a lot of very interested people sit completely outside of them "What's Steam? Will it be on (Switch 1/Mac/tablet)" was a common refrain.

Last weekend we showed our beetle catching game at the National Insect Expo. Bug enthusiasts of all ages came by! We had the game, bug-portraits, colouring-in, 'suggest a beetle', dioramas and merch. It was so much fun! After MIGW we'll post about it on instagram www.instagram.com/intarsia.stu...

Once we have the intent (or lack thereof) we can split off into two different threads which i could oversimplify down to 1. "Do we need that?" 2. "How do we best validate it is fulfilling its intent (do we need to iterate, can we mark it done and move on or must we look for alternative solutions)

What is the intent behind this [system/mechanic/design choice]? In some cases this captures unnecessary features (eg useful for student teams uncritically including a jump in their walking simulator) and in others forces the articulation of what a system is meant to do so that can be validated.

Maybe the reason CEOs seemed less blatently dumb is that they had cadres of human PAs who quietly cajoled them and prevented situations where they could make fools of themselves. Labour which was likely so underappreciated that the CEOs happily replaced them all with Claude.
