There’s a unique sort of fandom-brain that seems unable to see people engage with a story as presented. If a character is introduced as an antagonist, it doesn’t matter that they get redeemed later if the audience isn’t supposed to know. It’s actual lowkey media illiteracy.

Beautiful, haunting film. Haven’t been so personally attacked by a story in a minute. The way this captures such a specific feeling, time, and relationship is cutting. That planetarium monologue is a perfect scene. boxd.it/gArkV3

That’s a wrap on Resident Evil Requiem. Great game, total RE fanservice. Played the hits more than almost any other game in the series. Grace is such an all-time great addition to the protagonist cast, Old Man Leon ruled. 4.5/5

I actually do think there's a uniquely interesting way to portray Carrie in today's climate vs. the 70's. Kids are more cruel on social media now than King ever could have dreamed of when he wrote it, and it's looking like Flanagan is 100% committed to tapping into that.

my biggest takeaways: - 1k views from twitter. ALL that noise/hate for almost literally nothing. - video has 96% likes. - several qrt’s are straight up bot replies, down to specific examples/buzzwords/phrasing. genuine dead internet shit. twitter just isn’t real life.

Kinda conflicted on The Ghost In The Shell. Obviously one episode is too early to say anything definitively — but, at least to me, a lot of the dreamy tone and atmosphere and technoanxiety that I love in 1995/SAC just… isn’t really there at all. Will definitely keep watching!

Finished The Summer Hikaru Died. Loved it. So few anime attempt psychological horror that it felt like a real breath of fresh air. Such neat cinematography using real film at points. Will likely be an upcoming video… I just need to rewatch some stuff first…

Jaadugar 1&2 really surprised me. Beautiful artstyle, fluid animation, and a really intriguing historical and cultural setting/premise that you don't typically see in anime. Will be paying attention to this one!

It’s bizarre how behind the times Youtube is in regards to copyright. You can just use any song/clip/whatever you want on Tiktok, and it’s fine — but show more than 5 seconds of anything in a longform YT video, and you’re demonetized, striked, and going to jail.

People will really read/watch/play the most scathingly political media of all time and then act confused when the creator talks about their political stance… as if it wasn’t painfully obvious with an ounce of media literacy.
