If elected officials can only stay a certain number of years, but lobbyists have no limits, lobbyists will acquire the institutional knowledge needed to get shit done rather than the electeds, giving them more power than they already have. Electeds will become temporary pawns.

Term limits is a horrible idea- it gives more power to lobbyists and negates any sort of institutional knowledge an elected official might obtain. It’s had a hugely negative effect in Michigan.
