Why is he allowed to keep coming to the UK is one question that immediately comes to mind? Producing and disseminating disinformation about the country should be disqualifying.

Hated the EU because the freedoms he already enjoyed by accident of birth and elite membership were also being shared with the non-deserving working classes.

Irish grandmother is qualifying. Parent can't prevent registration on the register of foreign births. Passport application can follow. If it's a question of information/obtaining documents a lot is available on-line from registrars. Ps. This is intended to be helpful not a Bluesky lecture.

Interesting - kept his trap shut during 14 years of Tory rule. Now two years into a Labour government (a less than stellar one admittedly) all is lost.

Not explicitly a spy series but Star City on Apple TV has an amazing cast and alongside the space theme runs a fairly strong espionage element.

Nicola's gonna have to do what she's got to do to earn a crust on the circuit even if it means further reputational damage. I wouldn't even rule out a berth as an independent in the HoL in a few years.

From fading memory even Starmer made a better job of the Southport riots than the Beadle is doing here. But something something buses, norf, no currant bun interviews (but The Times is fine).

Only a matter of time before a motorised column of these people is blue lighted by police to Dowing street for a peaceful handover of power (all in the name of public order of course).

Almost finished it now. Really enjoyable, well written and funny. Never mawkish or anthropomorphic. As a spaniel owner I even learned a few new things about the rascals.

Halfway through my preview copy of 'The Wolf that Chews Rocks' by @russincheshire.bsky.social and enjoying it immensely. Well written, funny but never mawkish or anthropomorphic, it's been a pleasure to read and as a time served spaniel wrangler I've even learned a few things about the rascals.

Ah yes that glorious sepia toned holiday in France of fond memory with smoke in the air, dried up rivers, cyanobacteria filled lakes and stifling days of shut up houses and closed shutters.

There are serious points to be made about course choices and employment but the biggest motivation for these columns is their overwhelming desire to reduce competition in professions and careers from working class graduates. As if good old nepotism, discrimination etc... weren't already sufficient.

If only he used 1% of the energy he's using to bait civilians on Bluesky to ask questions of the politicians and civil servants who absolutely botched the management of Covid in the first place and made longer and stricter lockdowns inevitable.

I support the main thesis of the croquettes discourse. Tonight's restaurant meal - veal shoulder cromesqui (croquette by any other name). Was delicious.

Spooky - 10 minutes ago I had a tall glass of red, three ice cubes all ready to go. Proceeded to spill it due to clumsiness and now spent the last 10 minutes cleaning up the spill, then I read this. Lost the will to pour another one or is it fear I do it again.

A few years of government like an 'Up North' Channel 4 state of the nation drama from the 2000s await. Warren Clarke or equivalent to play Burnham's economic adviser Jim O'Neill.

Ah yes - Dunblane, a far off place of which we know little.
Rupert Lowe describes the Dunblane killings in which 16 school children and one teacher died as as one murder as he whines about stricter gun controls being introduced as a result.

On the other hand, alongside his inner Swifty is the post punk guitar jangling McGuinn fringed Orange Juice fan, falling and laughing his way into government. If only he had let that side out more or at all.

Not sure one episode of acute care makes for anything other than a subjective judgement. YMMV. I don't exactly stay in the wilderness but it's a dental and primary care desert and there are many pleas on the local Fb from people trying to stitch their care together from a fairly disjointed system.
