Lord of the Rings meme in three-panel format

Gimli: I never thought I'd die fighting AI side by side with a copyright maximalist

Legolas: You still owe statutory damages to Warner Brothers and the Tolkien estate for this meme

Text over photo.

Myth: Big Tech is crooked but there's not effective way for users to complain

there has to be a meme template for "Mozilla on the Fediverse" vs. "Mozilla on LinkedIn" but I can't think of one

Vibe CMS? Error message somehow posted as a story: "Article Cannot Be Produced — Source Material Does Not Exist" (fwiw a story about this subject does exist, at techcrunch.com/2026/03/21/delve-acc… )

Article Cannot Be Produced — Source Material Does Not Exist
Written by Dave Ritchie
Saturday, March 21, 2026

The source article provided (TechCrunch, dated March 21, 2026) does not exist. The date is in the future, and no such article can be found or crawled. Additionally, no corroborating current news coverage about a company called ‘Delve’ being accused of misleading customers with fake compliance could be located through web or social media searches.

As a matter of journalistic integrity, this article cannot be fabricated from a non-existent source. If you have an alternative, real source URL or can provide the actual content you'd like covered, I'm happy to produce a detailed long-form article based on verifiable information.

A solid safety decision by someone at the city of #Alameda, #California to prepare for today's #noKings event. Heavy city trucks parked in the street to protect the crowd from other vehicles. Good-sized crowd, too
City street scene with a white dump truck parked perpendicular to the traffic lanes. The truck has a city seal on the passenger door. There are some trees, a parked car, an antenna tower, and a US flag on a flagpole in the background.

For most people setting up ad blocking on their own, a full-featured tool like #uBlockOrigin is a good choice. But if you're using DNS to protect a whole family or organization, you also need to check that you're covering the search malvertising problem.

End of an era at the public library. No more Western section, which I remember being next to science fiction for as long as I have known how to find it. (I guess now we're down to "mystery", "science fiction and fantasy" and "fiction" now)

I thought the AI was supposed to take over doing this kind of stuff—does this "master storyteller" job include pretending that a bot did your work?

"We are looking for an AI social media 🦄 for our Google DeepMind comms team - if you're a master storyteller, who can translate complicated tech into super compelling engagements...if you're especially good at content creation and know how to talk to AI superfans and tech enthusiasts, and you aren't afraid to roll up your sleeves, you might be the one we're looking for"

@futurebird @hjwp Also the "advertising" that people are blocking today is different from what "advertising" used to be. Fewer agency people, doing more ads each, means that each ad carries less info on brand quality and reputation, and it makes more sense […] [Original post on federate.social]
