“As for the mounting threats posed by automation, “Trump revoked Biden’s AI safety initiative and banned states from crafting their own AI regulation, reflecting a ‘damn the torpedoes’ approach to AI development.” Even before the 2026 war on Iran, it seemed the Trump administration was actively striving to move the Doomsday Clock further ahead.” — Klein, Naomi; Taylor, Astra. End Times Fascism: And the Fight for the Living World (p. 19). Farrar, Straus and Giroux. Kindle Edition. As for "safety measures" of ANY KIND at all, MAGA/Trump is following the whims of madmen like Trump, the 2025 Project and those psychopaths and sociopaths who don't seem to understand the word CONSEQUENCES nor the science that warns them about these.

So it's not a "But"..."an analyst using a chatbot" is not "AI on it's own" but "an analyst", "using" it. I know you are making the same point, but I want us to focus on the way we talk about AI as having "a mind of its own". Just hasn't happened yet. We ARE "letting loose" our instructions without properly vetting their consequences and effects. Kind of like we did and keep doing with fossil fuels (although now we know and are just denying/lying about it). Taking the profits and running and leaving "others" to pick up the pieces.

Political Crisis upon Ecological Crisis
Absolutely. Directly. They are very bit as bad as Trump was on Jan. 6 when he incited a riot at the capitol. The GOP has enabled a fascist takeover by their oligarch benefactors. Traitors. On top of the far worse abandonment of ecological responsibility that has been ongoing for 40+ years, which is when James Hansen told EVERYONE, because the government to which he entrusted his findings was doing nothing to pass on the warnings. (1988...38 years, but the warnings had been getting communicated from Climate scientists for previous 30 & earlier.)

Lots of people are passing this graphic around on Social Media, and the list is long and infuriating as it is, but what I think infuriates me just as much is how it does not include a single mention of any of the Ecological destruction and Deadly delay and further, totally unneeccessary damage the Trump and GOP are doing to the ecosystem, as if this isn't going to end up killing billions of people and wiping out yet more species and rendering the earth mostly uninhabitable for humans and most every other present living thing.

Its become focused on the other sense of END which is the ultimate death of everything. Opposite of "Apocalypse" by definition, which is focus on "Revealing" or "Unveiling", which is for thepurposes of seeing things for what they are, so that we can see how what has gone off the rails can be restored to its proper place along the way to the DESIRED "end".

Someone he clearly despised, but offered the VP slot, he is denying he ever did that. Deceived, and thus DEMONIC. He has joined the minions. "God's work" for him looks more like Satan's. An Ecological Civilization that should best represent the “Kingdom of God”
The Medieval Church, being that one that preceded The Printing Press and industrialization and Reformation, did its major intercontinental "expansion" (aka "Conquest" via participation and their "blessing" upon those "Conquests" of other lands and their inhabitants). Thus began the drive to "develop" and "landscape" (aka "Tera-form" those lands both physically and culturally in the image of Europe and its varied cultures). The enslavement of human bodies to do the "man-power" work can be said to have "led to" to the employment of long-dead "Fossils" for fuels that replaced human "manpower" with "goods" pillaged from the earth, often and almost invariably by commandeering vast tracts of land around which these extractions took place, and "increasing" the GDP.

the religious meaning of the ecological world of species
This book pours out attention on the second big bang. It asks a specific question about a sphere that is still making its way into religious consciousness: what is the theological meaning of the natural world of life? This world evolved in all its splendor without human help. It was the context in which the human species itself evolved, and daily provides irreplaceable nourishment for human bodies and spirits. In our day its future is in jeopardy due to human action and inaction, destructive behavior shot through with a disastrous failure of our vaunted intelligence and virtue.

Economies drive not only a lot of the mess we've created, but they also can be driven themselves. We need to flip more of who or what is in the driver's seat.

Apocalypse exposes the very people who are now appropriating it
It is tragic irony that the apocalyptic literature of the Christian tradition that was written as a rebuke and rejection of the brutality of empire is now being used by empire to control the hearts and minds of the masses for the sake of perpetuating empire and its unjust and violent ways. The longing for a new and just world so often expressed in apocalyptic literature has been tragically transformed into a nihilistic obsession with the destruction of the world and finding ways to escape this destruction by seeking personal salvation in another world after this life.

Anthropocosmic
Where the seventeenth-century Jesuits saw a gulf between the human and divine worlds, with God benignly surveying humanity from the tenth heaven, the Chinese saw continuity. Together, heaven, earth and humanity formed a continuum—a triad that was organic, holistic and dynamic. The Confucian scholar Tu Weiming (b. 1940) has described this integral relationship as “anthropocosmic”: there is no division between human beings and the cosmos, because the two share the same reality. — Armstrong, Karen.
