A short camping trip with family last weekend. As always, not much time for #hamradio, but at least three P2P #POTA QSOs on 20m. Better than nothing. #Amateurfunk

Had some #hamradio QSOs for EUHF Championship (and #POTA) from my holiday QTH yesterday. Unfortunately, my antenna here (EndFed with 1:9 Unun) was not playing very well, so I could not use more than 10 W. SSB did not work with these conditions, but at least CW did. #amateurfunk

Last week, the #WWA Sprint 2026 took place. I was able to do the required #hamradio QSOs for the basic award on Tuesday evening with my Xiegu G90 and the EFHW antenna. #amateurfunk

My last two #hamradio QSOs yesterday were in FT8, so here’s a small picture of my digimode setup. The DIY digimode adapter sends the TX audio to the Xiegu G90’s ACC port, but it receives the RX audio from the G90’s headphone jack instead (from ACC does not work). #Amateurfunk

My digimode setup. The G90 rests on the Eremit battery and is connected to the PC via its USB CAT cable (with a snap-on ferrite). The DIY digimode adapter is connected on one side to the G90’s ACC port and headphone jack, and on the other side to the PC’s headset jack.

During my last #hamradio summit activations I missed points due to remembering some rules incorrectly. To prevent this, I have created a small cheat sheet for my favorite #Amateurfunk activities #SOTA, #GMA, #SBW and #POTA.

First test QSO with #FT8CN, #Xiegu G90 and DV27S mobile antenna. No cable connection at the moment, just sound transmission through the air (and PTT directly by hand). To be able to run FT8CN on the old #Samsung Galaxy S4, I installed Lineage OS 18.1. #hamradio #Amateurfunk

Thanks for the link. It looks good, and I can imagine that it gives nice results. :) I also have some more antennas for the Anytone and the Quansheng, and another to-do is to compare their signal strength from some distance.

000

DL7MO @dl7mo.bsky.social · 16/04/2025

That's cool. I also like the quansheng, and a tape measure antenna is on my to-do list. Do you have a link to a good instruction for building it?

DL7MO @dl7mo.bsky.social · 16/04/2025

Hi, for most images I used the original rubber duck antenna. For two #ISS passes I used a mounted DIY T2LT antenna. But no big difference - while the T2LT might have bigger gain, the rubber duck antenna allowed me to better adjust the direction.

010

DL7MO @dl7mo.bsky.social · 01/04/2025

Yes, I guess that receiving their SSTV signal is also possible with my setting. So maybe I will give it a try - but need some predictions about future passes.

100

DL7MO @dl7mo.bsky.social · 01/04/2025

Hi Daniele, I think there was some other issue than Doppler shift because other stations noticed this, too. Yes, it was the stock UV-K5 with stock rubber ducky antenna. Firmware was IJV 3.4. Used from inside of our house - the signal was very good.
