Yes, though since it’s October, it looks like they’re running behind. But it was actively being worked on today.

Look at this badass 1920s stonework at Cranbrook. Carving *out* of the stone rather than into it. Inscription is incredible.

Though I agree that the capital in this whole deal is rickety and touchy enough for it to unravel quickly. The cable brands will be dead weight soon enough, and creatives are already wary of doing business with the Ellisons. So there’s opportunity for another reinvention circa 2032.

If you’re looking for a slightly off-the-radar show on that list with some amazing women characters and performances, I’ll put in a pitch for Andor, if you haven’t yet seen it.

Still bitter that Hollywood tamed and domesticated 1940s Stanwyck and MacMurray (and so many others) by the mid 60s.
A screencap from the 1944 film Double Indemnity, showing the characters Phyliss Dietrichson (Barbara Stanwyck) and Walter Neff (Fred MacMurray) being sneaky in a grocery store.

Recording some off-air episodes of Barney Miller just because, and I like how the Plex metadata engine has seemingly made Jack Soo’s Yemana the series’ main character.
Three thumbnail images from a Plex media server of Barney Miller episodes. The show is an ensemble sitcom, but the thumbnails randomly only highlight the actor Jack Soo, a middle-aged Japanese-American man, who played Detective Yemana.

Getting sentimental as we donate our 06 Sienna. Our everything-mobile for a solid 15 years, and then the kids’ gateway to the world as teen drivers for the next 4. Interior is in great shape, but 225k + miles on the engine, and needs mechanical and structural overhauls on everything else. 🙏
