As he has done for decades, his answers/statements are mostly in a passive 3rd person perspective, to give himself enough cover to avoid personal responsibility and accountability.

I am starting to believe his "existential anxiety" comes from threats of harm to him & his family from hardcore Trump followers. Cassidy really had nothing else to lose politically by voting NO on Blanche. But he felt the existential anxiety and voted YES. The devil now owns his soul.

Same thing is probably true of Blanche. Many of Todd's answers, and non-answers, as just as cagey and suspicious as those of Trump. They are couched in a way that gives him some plausible deniability, which helps him avoid accountability.

Reports are recently coming out about people, both in & out of the Republican party, who are receiving threats of physical harm which include their families. I'm starting to believe THIS is how Trump is controlling the GOP. It seems most elected GOP officials are just hoping to stay off his radar.
