I love fall mornings. The way the sun lights up the golden colors of the aspen is *chef's kiss*. #fallcolors #viewfromthedeck

I love that the prompt in bsky is "What's up?" Ya wanna know what's up...gas and diesel: $4.99/gal for gas and $6.55/gal for diesel in western Wyoming. Nope, we're not going anywhere right now, and most especially NOT in the diesel truck. JFC, this is getting too extreme.

Long story short: I’m an asylum seeker in France now. I don’t know how long this process will take, but for I still can’t officially work here. So I’m looking for any opportunity to earn money to be able to pay for rent and food. Please, read and share this post ❤️‍🩹 ko-fi.com/illustory

WE NEED HELP
Please, read and share this!
(text version of the pics above)
We are a group of queer artists, and we are in big trouble.
In April 2025, we immigrated to France, seeking a safe place to live and make art.
Our humanitarian visas expired a year ago.
Since then, we have been trying to get legal status in France.
To be able to work, open a bank account, get health insurance and just have some basic human rights.
We spent a whole year fighting for our lives against Strasbourg Prefecture and we lost.

All this time we couldn't properly work, so we were burning our savings.
In August, all three of us were denied a residence permit.
According to the Prefecture, the only option for us To stay legally in France is to become asylum seekers.
About a week ago, we sent out our applications for the asylum.
Now we are looking at another indefinite stretch of time, before we are summoned to Paris for interviews.
It might be two months, three months, half of a year or even more... no one knows for sure.

We had planned for a year without documents max, and now it's been a year and a half already.
No matter how hard we tried to stretch our savings, they have run out.
Currently, we don't have enough money to pay for rent and food in November.
It's hard for me to admit that, but we are in huge trouble, with all our hopes and plans ruined by the French bureaucracy.
We really need your help and every little bit matters, so I came up with some options for how you can support us.

You write angst that hurts so damn good, but I have learned I need to wait until your story is done before I dive in to that angst, cuz I can't take the wait for the sun to shine again. So I'll be sitting to the side here, waiting for this gem of a story to finish up before I dive back in. 🙂

My EMT BIL told me the best OTC pills to take for pain is 2 400mg ibuprofen and 1 extra strength Tylenol (take w/food, never on an empty stomach). I've used that cocktail for decades to address pain, and it has almost always worked for me. (I am not a dr. & this is not medical advice.)

In "save our park," ch. 3, Stede hears an owl and shares that via his phone with Ed. "(S:) I’ve never been much good at finding them perched during the day. (E:) Would kinda feel like cheating, seeing them in the day.” Well, here's an owl sleeping in an aspen tree on a Sunday afternoon in Nov. 2012.

Every John Wayne western and Disney animation from 1960 to 1980, the Godfather, Giant, A League of Their Own, all sorts of B-grade movies. My folks took me when I was a wee one, and I went almost every summer weekend once I could drive.

And, for what it's worth, I have shit knees and these brands are all good for my knees, especially the oboz hiking boots for actual hiking. The other three brands have all proved to be very good "everyday" shoes.

HR is far from the first queer show to blow up worldwide. Many, many others led the way for it to become the hit it did.

Just curious, how has the skyrocketing cost of fuel affected your life right now? I'll go first: We never use the truck. We've eliminated ALL unnecessary travel, changed meetings to Zoom, kept our trips to town to a minimum (we live in a rural area). It's similar to what we did during COVID-19.

I am continually massively disappointed in Thune. WAY back in the day when I lived in SD, he was a politician to look up to. But he has drunk the kool-aid lock, stock, and barrel; sold his soul to the dark side.

The scary thing is all these unqualified idiots have no idea of real life (like high deductibles that keep you from using your ACA insurance until/unless absolutely necessary), and no idea how ignorant they sound every damn time they open their mouths. "Dr." Oz needs to go back to bad daytime TV.
