I think most people would agree Bezos, Musk, Page, Dell, Brin should be rich billionaires based on what they've done. But out of a total wealth of $2 trillion, they've given a combined total of $20 billion to charitable things. In contrast, Warren Buffet alone has given $69 billion.

My tax proposal: Eliminate the income tax entirely and replace it with a flat, 1.5% tax on net worth. Exclude the first $100,000, exclude retirement accounts. 40% of the population would pay no tax. We would raise a little more than current income tax. Don't tax earnings.

I think many of the arguments by tech people suggesting ai will cause human extinction in 5, 10 yrs, are pretty poor, not thought thru, narrow. There might be mass chaos, deaths, disruption, but not extinction. Still an issue of concern, but hold the melodrama for the big screen.
